A country in desperate need of heroes.

highly recommend this book, in my opinion the best narrator so far out of all the audio books i have listened to and the story is a really refreshing feel.

Excellent narrator, the story is jumps along at a good pace. Interesting characters, lots of action and a medieval setting a tad darker and maybe more real then then the stories of so many heroes.
Gemmell is an excellent story teller and it’s great to have a range of stories and settings in a grim dark fantasy worlds that don’t require reading numerous sequels. Recommend.

The only downside for me is a slightly anticlimactic ending.

Other than that, it is a truly fantastic book, i loved the characters and how they are shaped by the brutal reality of the time they live in. It was a lovely listen.
