About this listen

Gaia was groomed, abused and enslaved – but then she fought back

Gaia Cooper is just 14 years old when she is groomed by a criminal gang and forced to commit organised credit card fraud.

Despite being placed in care – somewhere Gaia should feel safe – she is left even more vulnerable, and is horrifically abused and exploited by the men manipulating her.

Will the authorities save Gaia – or will she have to save herself?

I found I couldn’t put this book down. The way this young girl screams for help and the system that let her down so badly, is just appalling
This is still happening and the whole system is still letting young people down. It is like they don’t want to know the truth about what is really happening and just sweep the truth under the carpet.
Young people caught up in similar circumstances are put in the too hard basket.
It takes a lot of courage to stand up and say that you are a survivor after all the adults in your life have let you down in so many ways .
I could relate to Gaia and felt so proud of her for being that survivor and helping others.
