It would be sheer folly to try to conceal the true nature of Althalus, for his flaws are the stuff of legend. He is, as all men know, a thief, a liar, an occasional murderer, an outrageous braggart, and a man devoid of even the slightest hint of honor. Yet of all the men in the world, it is Althalus, unrepentant rogue and scoundrel, who will become the champion of humanity in its desperate struggle against the forces of an ancient god determined to return the universe to nothingness.

Publisher's Summary
Book three in the magnificent Empire Trilogy by best-selling authors Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts. Welcome to the final play of the game. Now revered as the Servant of the Empire, Mara of the Acoma is in more danger than ever before. Not only does she face threats from the brotherhood of assassins and the cunning spies of rival ruling houses, but she has attracted the attention of the awesome Assembly of Magicians, who see her as a threat to their power.
But Mara has not reached her position through luck or accident of fate. Surrounded on all sides by enemies determined to bring her down, Mara must draw on her deepest resources to secure her place as Mistress of the Empire once and for all.
Mistress of the Empire is the stunning final book in Feist and Wurts' epic trilogy - one of the most successful fantasy collaborations of all time.

Epic conclusion to a great political series! Voice acting is great once in the swing from the first 2 books, a must after the original riftwar series! Pug makes a scene or two haha

These books go hard
They are written in a glorious fashion, haveing a woman's perspective makes them even better if u like fantasy this is for u!
Performance is not the best due to a difference in pronunciation to what I'm use to but that seems to be a recurring factor on audable.

Thrilling and satisfying end to the trilogy.
Really well written and solid vocal performance made this an enjoyable listen. I was once again taken away on an adventure inside this alien world of honour and freedom, would happily go a fourth time over if the book existed.

Absolutely Unforgettable
I have read this trilogy at least 50 times and now listened to it twice. If you believe in fate, honour and sacrifice, selflessness and a strong character to follow, you must read the Empire Series. Mara is a woman who is worth reading about... Her story is one for the ages... Thank you to Raymond E Feist and Janny Wurts for your story... 10/10

Stunningly good tale - have read them many times
I have been a fan for decades & once met Raymond Feist at a talk he gave in Toowoomba, in Qld, Australia. His stories are complex, detailed and magical. He writes amazing stories and I enjoy how detailed they are.

OMG, Other than Magician (and really, perhaps not even that) and perhaps - but only perhaps - the full Shogun saga, this is THE BEST EVER!
