Light, fast and a cliffhanger!

This is a pretty good listen. Andrew Tell narrates and I've come to like him through the Jack Stratton series.
This book begins with the protagonist Mason Black as a retired police detective. What it doesn't give you immediately is the backstory of the antagonist, the Lullaby killer and how he is responsible for Black's decision to leave the force.
This is not a complicated book. The story is light and fast. It is also straight forward though the description of murdered children might make some cringe. The one thing that bugged me is that this book is relatively short and it ends with a major cliffhanger!!
Other then that I would recommend this book.

A great Narrator makes the story come alive.

As a well crafted story with interesting characters the listener is drawn in to this world through the magic of Audio.

The first stories were told not written this is a example of this ancient Art form.

The Narrator made the story interesting for me and helped me to complete it in a short time.

I will never think about lullabies the same

the book was very good yeah we had a cliffhanger but I do want to listen to the second book so I expected something like this I like to book very much and yes it did make me a little drama with the lullaby song but it was absolutely genius

Serial Killer Thriller

'Missing,' by Adam Nicholls is a suspenseful serial killer thriller that follows a former cop, turned P.I., who is working with the cops... again. If the plot sounds a bit muddy, it's because it is! There were a few points where I noticed inconsistencies with the plot itself. I won't name them because perhaps, they'll be missed by other readers! The problematic plot points didn't prevent me from enjoying the story, however. This tale includes some fun characters and some characters I'd really like to strangle; a good array of personalities, very representative of reality. Andrew Tell always delivers a fabulous narrative performance and he did not disappoint here!

A Good read / listen

"Missing" is gripping and fast paced, the subject matter is in places disturbing. Cliffhanger ending to tempt us into book 2, I prefer standalone novel in detective novels. A good read/listen.
Well narrated and easy to listen too.
Will I listen to book 2 when it becomes available? - Probably yes. Do I recomend this book? - yes

Great book but talk about cliffhanger. I want next book now!!! Can’t get enough from Adam Nicholls

Graphic, action packed mystery

I enjoyed the narration of this mystery. Andrew Tell did a good job capturing the dark, edgy subject matter of this book. His pacing was good, the diction easy to understand and his differentiation between the characters adept.

The story line deals with subject matter (crimes against children) that some readers may find disturbing. It is dark and gripping. I struggled mostly with the writer's mastery of craft. He tried to create multidimensional characters driven by compelling motivation and conflict, but some of the events, reactions and situations felt contrived to fit the story and were not credible. There are some situations in which important events are coincidental instead of feeling natural and organic.

Not a bad story but a few elements missed the mark for me.

Three Strikes and You're Out

I love psychological thrillers involving serial killers yet three times I have tried to make it through this audiobook. After reaching Chapter 63 ( of more than 90), I'm done. 2/3 of the way into this book, I am bored with the shallow characters, bored with the superficial details ( "filler") of their daily lives. There was no suspence, dread or foreboding in the actual hunt for the killer. Perhaps the action picks up in the last third of the book, but I didn't care. The narration is fine, with good voice differentiations to keep the characters straight. I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for an unbiased review.

SPINE-TINGLING! GREAT LISTEN, DISTURBING!

I really enjoyed this book, and the narration really kicked butt, loved it. Great disturbing story, this type of story is right up my alley. Great characters, great story, and loved the suspense! I'll definitely listen to future books in the series. I really love being able to listen to many different books, different styles of writing and storytelling. Liked this one, well done :)

Trite, predictable, unrealistic and unfinished

Is Nicholls for real? This story is packed with clichés and stereotypes. It's so trite, it's almost embarrassing. The characters are poorly developed and the dialog is lame. The whole story is predictable and unrealistic. To top it off, it's unfinished. Disgraceful!

And Andrew Tell's overly dramatic performance only serves to emphasize the ridiculousness of this story. It's utterly disappointing.
