Funny, smart and engaging. I loved the grounding in myth and legend. Great writing from an author who clearly loves words and ideas and plays with them so beautifully.

The way David Duchovny wrote Miss Subways made it incredibly easy for me to picture every scene, almost like a film playing out in my mind. His descriptive language and sharp, witty storytelling allowed me to visualise each moment as it unfolded, making the reading experience feel both intimate and immersive. I found the characters, especially Emer, captivating and easy to relate to. They each had their own quirks, flaws, and raw humanity, which made them feel authentic and believable. What I loved most was the mythology woven throughout the story. It added an intriguing layer of ancient mystery, giving me the sense that darker, mystical forces quietly shape our lives in ways we often don’t notice or fully understand. This subtle mix of mythology, romance, and urban fantasy made Miss Subways a genuine page-turner from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and would happily read it again.
