Publisher's Summary

Kate and Price Lewis had the perfect marriage - love, fulfilling careers, and a great apartment in the city. But when Price's work takes him overseas and his plane goes down, their happily-ever-after goes down with it.

A year later, Kate is still trying to cope. She's tied to her grief as tightly as she was bound to Price. When her sister-in-law coaxes her into an extended girls' trip - three weeks on a remote island in the South Pacific - Kate agrees. At a villa as secluded as the island, they're the only people in sight, until Kate sees a ghost walking toward them on the beach. Price is alive.

Their reunion is anything but picture perfect. Kate has been loyal to the husband she thought was dead, but she needs answers. What she gets instead is a cryptic proposal - go back home in three weeks, or disappear with Price...forever. Emotions run high, passions burn bright, and Kate faces an impossible choice. Can Price win back his wife? Or will his secrets tear them apart?

Nope. Just nope.

This story 1000% did not work for me. If I didn’t love the narrators I probably would have DNFed this book.

I just hate Price every step of the way. I couldn’t stand him and the way he refused to focus on real things and all he wanted to do was have sex as a way to fix everything. Also, he constantly put Kate down and called her naive when he was the one that wasn’t telling her anything. I just could never connect with or enjoy the story.

Just not for me

I'm beginning to think it's me. I just don't seem to click with these Misadventures books the way others are clicking. This story is okay.
Kate and Price experience a tragic event.

The story picks up a year later, after Price's death. That's not a spoiler, it's in the blurb. Kate is still trying to pick up the pieces, but what happens when Price strides back into her life--alive and well?!

Kate isn't sure how to handle it, Price just wants to get back to them.

But can love conquer that kind of betrayal? The kind of lies and games that have been played to keep them both alive?

Yeah, it isn't my bag either, but here we are.

Missing Something

The story started strong, it picked my interest, then went down hill. It was all about sex and lacking substance, in other words, no plot. Although, I didn't mind Lauren Rowe's narration, at times, I found her wanting. She seems to be detached from the character she played. Overall, the narration was good with Joe Arden behind it

overly porny

don't get me wrong, I love steamy sex stories but they over did it. Basically no plot to the book. Every time it got interesting sex ruined it

Interesting story

Not the best I have ever read, but the love between the two main characters was sweet and strong. The mystery keeps you listening with a lot of suspense. Great narration!

Hooked to the end!

While the Misadventures books are so different from each other, this one might be my favorite so far. I was sucked into this story line, wanting to know what happens next so badly. While there were still steamy parts for those who are wanting those, the mystery and thrill ride to the end of the story is what I enjoyed the most!

The narrators did a great job with this story. Joe Arden, as always, was my favorite.

Too Much Sex....Not Enough Story

I’m all for hot and steamy sex scenes but the plot of the story could’ve been better developed. Every time I thought I was going to learn something new about why he had to stay dead there was yet another sex scene. It’s like the sex was the main plot and the reason they tried to kill him was just a minor part of the story. It should’ve been the other way around.

I only finished this book because I like to finish things but it took me way longer to finish this one than any other books in the series. The saving grace was the performance by the narrators.

Slow start quick to end good overall

The story started off very slow. I almost to put the book down because the narrator was a bit boring. When the story finally started picking up I feel like it took forever to get to the explanation if The Husband's story. Then at the end when the FBI gets involved the story basically ends with a quick explanation and then an epilogue. I was disappointed because I would have love to see the whole investigation. Overall good book. I was on the edge of my seat when Kate gets pushed into the limo
