Publisher's Summary

When you steal Time Magic, prepare to run for eternity …

Arlan can go back in time by one minute, once per day.

Fail a challenge? Say something dumb? He can get a redo as long as he acts fast.

And every time he levels up, he can go back a little further.

But, even with his growing power, Arlan has never been in more danger. He was left stranded in the middle of a monster-infested forest, nobody to rely on but himself as he fights to build strength.

And his time magic wasn't given to him freely.

He stole it.

And its original owners would go to any lengths to take it back.

Don't miss the start of a new LitRPG adventure filled with time magic, three-dimensional characters, a crunchy LitRPG system, tactical combat, and power progression where level-ups are hard-earned and bring with them meaningful change in characters’ abilities.

Pretty good beginning

I came across this title on a subreddit and liked how the author explained his reasons for writing it - enough to give it a go.
I enjoyed the world building; imaginative without being overly complicated. Characters are well fleshed out with room for growth, which we see as plot progresses. I liked the devil - good job making him both evil and sympathetic.
The system is sensible and a bit crunchier than average. It's not annoyingly frequent and pops up at logical times. I could ignore the overly detailed (math) details without missing out on anything important.
Overall, i am interested in continuing the series.
I hope it is all released on audio as the narrator did a great job.

I will be looking at more self promotion posts on Redit i think. Might be missing out on some gems...

Great ideas, but longwinded

I love the ideas but... Hours of unnecessary dialogue and side-story. Just say the demons are invading and get on with it.

Hope you like forests

I liked this book overall, but I think the story, characters and setting suffer from needing to work around the main characters powers.

The narrator does a fine job, even if it feels like the author was personally messing with them by making the demon names so absurdly long.

The constant interruptions of the story to insert system messages whenever the main character casts a spell or deals damage doesn't work at all in audio format. When actually reading you could effortlessly skim through the endless system windows but in this audiobook they are painful, and genuinely detract from the overall experience.

But nothing draws me out of a book faster than the MC constantly miss-using their OP protagonist powers. I'm not sure if the obvious exploit with the 'at midnight' reset is actually used later in the story but as it is in book 1 it is nearly constantly frustrating.

Another issue with the protagonists powers are that it leads to very predictable and obvious story beats. Characters encounter enemy -> They lose -> Reset -> They win. It happens over and over, and even when the possibilities expand as the MC's power evolves they story never deviates from this cycle.
