Good Sound Quality.

Amazing resource. All gardeners/preppers/beginners in farming should have. Some much information crammed in to an easy to reference volume with references to additional resources for continued research. Leaves you wanting more and is an easy listen. Photos make the less understandable elements clear and diagrams aid it execution of projects. Highly recommend, will be purchasing copies for my extended family members.

Excellent Audio Book.

LOOK NO FURTHER!! This book is amazing and filled with information from front to cover with ZERO "fluff." My kind of book. If you are looking for serious in depth answers and info, this is the book for you. I purchased several other mini farming and organic gardening books and they all disappoint next to this one! Well with the money! My pups and I are very pleased! It is a great addition to our growing hobby/mini farm!

The Best in Their Collection.

I kind of expected more from such a large book, but there is value in the words on the page for beginners and intermediates looking for ideas. It's not for someone who's into chemistry or deeply focuses on biology.

Everyone Needs to Listening Amazing Book.

As a compendium of several different mini-farm management techniques this is a unique book. If anything it is not long enough. He uses several illustrations and photos to make some good points. This is a real strength of the book. I also enjoyed it because he is writing from a northeastern U.S. perspective. His discussion of note taking and careful comparisons of different bed uses should be taken to heart by anyone who wants to be a serious gardener. Moreover discussing both organic and standard farming practices was welcome and appropriate.

Appreciated This Audio Book.

This is the best book on gardening that I have come across. The in depth explanations of things like turning soil and making quality compost are enlightening to me (a life long gardener). This book has me ordering a soil test kit, organic fertilizer, and a compost thermometer. I have always been a bit of an under performer in the garden but I think the methods in this gem are going to be a game changer. I highly recommend this book, summer is way too short to have a mediocre garden.

Well Said.

The thick, glossy pages with vivid images makes it appealing to flip through. However, viewpoints are given without explanation, and only small bits of information given about a diverse range of topics. Also, considering the title, you would expect more guidance on how to maximize the space on a quarter acre, but this wasn't really discussed. Good for basic gardening tips and raising chickens, but not much else.

Lovely Audio Book.

This has a lot of great information for someone who is just starting a home garden for the purpose of providing food. It might not be the best for someone with a lot of experience but I found a lot of the information to be useful. Not a terribly long listen but there's enough information here for someone to get an idea of how to start out. You will still have to do some research to have the most successful garden but this book will provide a good starting point. There are no illustrations or pictures in this book which deterred me from providing a 5 star review but I would still recommend this book. I received this kindle ebook at a discount for an unbiased review.

Excellent Listen.

I was considering making a mini gardening area in my backyard with all the things I love to eat. This book made me realize how much work is involved, so I changed my plan, I'm still going to garden, using tips and ideas from the book, such as raised beds, and concrete containers, I'm just going to go smaller, so my plants have the best chance. And I learned something I didn't know about pigs. Because of where I live I can't compost fully, but I can use some of what I just learned. I never thought before about how much research and worth goes into farming. I really respect people a lot more who can do this to a larger extent. Definitely worth the listen, even if you just want to put a small garden on your apartment balcony. I never thought you could grow watermelons of any kind on a trellis, I was wrong, happily.

Very Interesting Book .

I was so happy to have received a discount on my purchase price which was given in exchange for my HONEST review of the product after use, regardless of whether the review is good or bad. Others' reviews help me so much so I'm hoping mine can do the same. The discount was given up front unconditionally on the purchase price and not dependent upon the contents or rating of the review to ensure the opinions shared are not skewed based upon saving money. I only buy products I'd pay full price for anyway, and give my true opinion, so the discount doesn't alter my decision. Sellers are just looking for feedback on what customers like and don't like about their products so they know if they need improvements, or if they are great products and people love them the way they are, the feedback helps answer questions for others shopping for the same type of item.

Valuable Book.

I listen this book as someone who would theoretically like to start growing my food in the future. This book was a fascinating resource for me to get a good idea of how much work would be required and what it would be like to grow my own food. I would recommend it to anyone interested in gardening.

Lovely Audio Book.

It's good; lots of good material. But almost no pictures. ugh. Would seriously benefit from some illustrations. If you are thirsty for this kind of book the very best every written is 'The Self-Sufficient Life' by John Seymour

Excellent Listen.

I purchased this book for my dad for father's day. I attached packs of heirloom seeds with some kitchen twine & he loved it! It has some effective farming techniques that can be used even on the smallest scale. It also includes instructions for other self-sufficient activities such as canning. It's a really useful book for beginners.

Highly Recommend .

This book is interesting, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It also could have had better formatting. If you are interested in being a farmer this may be a good choice, but if you are more interested in casual gardening/ just growing for yourself and your family there are better books out there. I would love to see a second edition of this book with a different font used and some better organization, because it cold be a really great book. As is it's not bad, but there are better.

Lovely Audio Book.

This is a "just the facts" guide to everything I wanted to know about mini-farming. I was initially put off by the lack of personality in the writing. But having taken a break from this book to read one with lots of personality and very little information, I have a new appreciation for the author's direct informative writing style. I learned a lot about plants, gardening, and preserving and found this book a useful primer.

Excellent Listen.

This book really is an excellent guide to how you might approach *Organic* gardening, with short shrift paid to methods heavy on toxic pesticides. That is good, because a topic as broad as farming has to be given a certain focus.
