Publisher's Summary

Life is amazing. And then, it's awful. And then, it's amazing, again. In between the amazing and the awful, life can be ordinary, mundane, and routine. But we are here to engage in the human experience. What most of us don't always understand is that we have the power to make this experience a great one for ourselves, if we can rise above our day-to-day struggles to see that they are just part of life and eventually will pass.

With our jobs at the forefront of our lives, work is the biggest source of stress for many. In a survey from nonprofit advocacy group Mental Health America, 83% of today's workers are experiencing signs of burnout, with demands of the work domain spilling over into the personal life domain.

Now, in our new course, Mindfulness for the Workplace, you can find respite from life's inevitable frustrations and challenges with practical, evidence-based solutions from our expert Wendy Quan—author, entrepreneur, and pioneer in workplace mindfulness. Wendy discovered and used mindfulness and meditation as a source of strength to get through a series of devastating crises in her life. Stunned by its effectiveness, she now trains and certifies others to do the same in the workplace.

With this insightful and engaging 12-lesson course, you will gain tools to create a better experience for yourself at work and in life, no matter what your current circumstances are or what the future might hold.

By employing these simple techniques that anyone can do, you will be able to reduce stress, handle people better, and have better work-life balance, even if your workload stays the same. When you integrate mindfulness practice into your daily routine, you'll begin to recognize life as an adventure, so that you don’t rush through it and wonder later where all the years went.

Could be much better…

I normally leave great reviews but this one needs a review on itself. The author needs to reconsider her delivery, storyline and own ego.
The author tries to pass on some great tips and teachings, but it was a real struggle getting through to the end for me. Personally, she just about completely lost me upon praising herself as a “pioneer” near the beginning of the book. I don’t think that she should be praising herself on something as important as ‘pioneering’ when all of these teachings and practices have been out for much longer than her time on this planet. Further to that, I recall the implementation of these practices in corporate back in the 1980’s. There are also books that describe the related…
The audiobook is okay. You will come across some great notions, phrases and tips, but these would honestly be better summarised on one page than feeling the author’s ego shine through more often than not. Dear author, I think that you need to swallow more of a humble pill that walks away from self focus and your pat on the back achieving. Only then will your work step up to the next level… I could go on, but my desire is to merely give feedback to the author in the hope the she considers reviewing the content and applying a better delivery.
All and all… it’s still worthy of a read as you still gain something! Nothing is ever a total loss and one can even accomplish revision if not anything else from even a bad read.
