I couldn't finish this book

So sorry to this that love this book. I didn't like anything about it. I was actually excited to read it as the title led me to believe that it would be a love story in poems. Note to self, read more reviews and a synopsis before purchasing.

A challenging book

I enjoyed the poems in the book, some of the poems were triggering covering assault.. and finding love within. Overall the message of the book was pure and I would consider it as self healing book. The part that sat with me the most was where the realisation of feeling love wasn’t given to her by her partner but she taught him how to love her and she acknowledges that as she spent a lot of time crying and wasting her energy of thinking she will never be able to feel love again (I can’t remember the name of the poem but it was towards the end) but in actual reality she taught him how to love her and he was just able to acknowledge love and she claims her life back again which is so powerful, deeming the assault covered in earlier poems and recognises her self worth and forgives herself for ever giving him that much credit and control over her life. The ending of the book was very beautiful and she speaks softly and the word are able to land. She gave a piece of advice for aspiring poets, make poems that make your heart and soul feel good and never trade honesty for relatability. Which I think is great advice I believe you should always be honest. Great book of poems

Overhyped

Wasn’t really a poetry book, more like a book of notes you write to yourself while placed on hold in customer service hotline.

MILK & HONEY BLENDED WELL

Rupi Kaur is my favorite poetry writer, she's real balm for the Soul !
Just a little teaser below:

- you might not have been my first love
but you were the love that made
all the other loves irrelevant -

Written & Narrated by Rupi Kaur, very much enjoyable pace & voice.

Not my thing

Some of this is interesting but didn’t relate to most and generally found it a bit of an immature view of emotions/relationships - although nice general message about self love
