Michael Niavarani (*1968) kam 1989, nach seiner Schauspielausbildung und einigen Jahren am Graumann-Theater, zum Kabarett Simpl, von dem er 1993 nach Martin Flossmann die künstlerische Leitung des Hauses übernahm. 2002 zeigte er sein erstes Soloprogramm "Niavaranis Kühlschrank". Es folgten weitere Soli und Programme gemeinsam mit Viktor Gernot - sie gehören zu den erfolgreichsten Kabarettproduktionen der Gegenwart.
Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Kabarettist ist Michael Niavarani außerdem in zahlreichen österreichischen Filmproduktionen und ORF-Serien zu sehen. Im November 2009 erschien zudem sein erster Roman "Vater Morgana", der innerhalb weniger Monate die Bestsellerlisten des deutschsprachigen Feuilletons eroberte.
