Michael Faraday is regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern physics. His work in the field of electromagnetism revolutionized society, leading to new avenues of study and developments of technology that would leave the world changed forever. Without Faraday’s discoveries, there would be no electronics or electrical power. There would be no technology as we recognize it, or at the very least those technologies would have taken much longer to arise, causing our time to look very different.

Inspiring life in many ways
There aren’t many titles available on the life of Michael Faraday. Although this isn’t a Walter Issacson epic, it does justice to the impact that Faraday had on the world, and showcases his many virtues, from curiosity, experimentation, espousal of the social good of science, of social progresión, of tenacity to follow your dreams, and an enduring faith in his religion that cut against the grain of mainstream Anglicanism.
There was a bit of repetition, suggestive that the chapters where written in isolation of each other. That aside, the chapters progressed nicely to create a natural arc of his life.
The performance was okay. It sounded, to my ear anyway, that single sentences were recorded and spliced together. It didn’t flow with the natural human breath that you would hear if you yourself were reading it aloud.
None the less, a worth while read for an hour.
