THE MESSAGE HAS DISAPPEARED.
SO HAS YOUR BEST FRIEND . . .

Get ready for the most unputdownable thriller of 2024, from no.1 bestselling author K. L. Slater
Saffy is waiting to go into a job interview when she receives a text message from her best friend, Leona:
Can’t speak . . . don’t text or call . . . please just come

As Saffy struggles to understand what is happening the phone screen changes:
This message was deleted.
Saffy races to Leona’s house, but when her friend answers the door, she insists everything's fine. She doesn't know anything about the message. Saffy can tell something’s not right, but after looking around the house, she can’t think of anything else she can do.
Six hours later, Saffy gets a knock on the door. It's the police. Leona is missing, with her young child. There's blood everywhere.
And Saffy was the last one to see them alive . . .

Have read all of the K L Slater books on here and no complaints at all. Great stories and great performances. Would recommend.

Couldn't get into this one

The narrator does a great job with this, besides the weird way her esses are clipped in some sentences. But the story just makes such little sense! Why are the police just SO convinced that Saffy's the person responsible for the disappearance? There's such little evidence for any of it, and they're so aggressive about taregeting her, it makes no sense at all. And the big reveal of the person behind everything is super obvious because there's no other reason for the storyline from when they were young. Just a really bizzarely bad story

Worst recording, gets in the way of the story

It’s like a really bad AI was used, the voice was clipped at the end of words which really detracted from the storyline.

Narrator has a lisp

Typical gripping story for KL Slater but spoiled by the narrators lisp. Found myself yelling at my phone that it's "face" not "faith". Struggled to persevere.

Nothing really

This book for me was average, it was really slow and although had the bones to be really good never quite got there for me.

A Little predictable

Some good characters and story lines but the main character was annoying and the plot was predictable especially with so few people in the story.

Plenty of build up to keep you interested

Great storyline and not too many characters introduced. Narration was easy to listen to. Ending caught me by surprise!

good fast pace

nice story that time jumps a bit but still very understandable. not too many characters so very easy to follow. quite believable and just proves you should talk about things rather than let them fester and get out of control.

Good different.

Performed a storyline here every day. Enjoy going to bed with this every night. Interesting little explanation by The best friend of the end. Wrapped the story app it didn’t change the circumstance.
