Publisher's Summary

Leaving behind a nightmarish college experience, 19-year-old Nicole and her best friend Eric escape their home of Bangor, Maine to start a new life in Boston. Fragile and scared, Nicole desperately seeks a new beginning to help erase her past. But there is something besides freedom waiting for her in the shadows - a drug that will make every day a nightmare.

Heroin.

With one taste, the love that once flowed through Nicole's veins turns into cravings. Tracks mark the passing of time, and heroin's grip gets tighter. It holds her hand through deaths and prostitution, but her addiction keeps her in the darkness. When her family tries to strike a match to help light her way, Nicole must choose between a life she can hardly remember, and a love for heroin she'll never forget.

Fave book of all time!!

There wasn't a dull moment....but that's not to say it was all on the same level of awesome.
Slotted in the most unsuspected & stunning parts of the book - making it super shocking, some times exciting, often just unbelievable...& others really, really sad (full disclosure: i have, never, EVER, in my life been literally frozen & had to put a book down because it had effected me so deeply....), It was just amazing. Loved the reasersI could hear her voice often AND I READ/LOVE NON FICTION!!!! To be fair I didn't know it was a Fiction book, because it could have swayed my views on the entire thing.
IM SO GLAD ITS ALL GOOD NOW OK
I've had the second book sitting on my bookshelf for muuuuuch more than six months lol, & I don't know if I'm too scared to open it because it might not live up to it's(/MY) expectations for it.
But it picks up exactly where I left off and I need to know what happens next. I wish I had it in the audiobook form!!!!!!!!!
🤔I wonder if *now*!that I know that it's fiction - if it'll have me seeing the story & certain parts as bumsh!t in a really different light 🤔
I feel so stupid but I hope it was only me that mistook it for fiction haha - I saw the word "memoir" - I judged the book by its cover & loved it ❤️ read a few words from the blurb, certain whoppers caught my eye and it was on!! 🎉💖🙏🏻🎉😊⭐️

Misleading

Very misleading to call it a memoir and shouldn’t have been allowed by the publisher
