A change of pace

I'm enjoying the main storyline, a bit disappointed the first half of this one followed the other set of characters. I feel this could have been blended better.. this probably should have been done over the previous books.

I was laughing so hard I cried in parts... However, I personally found the first 1/2 of the book very boring.

A solid B

Lost some of its class, a bit too comfortable with the redneck jokey form. But still keen to know what happens next.

Enjoy the authors work, but not this story

More than half the book doesn’t follow the joe or Dutch when it does the author insist on putting you through a comedy routine and insisting that it’s fun.

Great

Another fast action packed joy to read. The merry band of pirates are up to their necks in trouble again.

the book is spilt into two parts

one half is about paradise and the team that dug up the cannons the other is about the merry band of pirates and how they react to the teams decisions

Love the parts with the Pirates

The parts of this story with the Merry Band of Pirates were, characteristically, AWESOME! I really didn’t enjoy the side-story with the Mavericks, though. The exposition needed to set them up felt like giant, boring brakes slamming on the series. They’d be better in their own, separate book. Keeping my fingers crossed I don’t have to endure such an enormous chunk of them again—I’m here for Joe and Skippy!!!

Interesting story but slow and distracted

Overall it was good. But the author seems to spend more and more time on repetitious ‘banter’ which slows things down and gets a bit dull. Good overall tho

enjoyable, but....

I have loved this series, the characters, storyline, amazing detail and descriptions, the awesome talents of RC Bray. You get that with this episode too, just except the first part of the book seems to drag on at times with pieces of the story that don't seem to add anything; perhaps it helps bring it together later, but I'm not sure on that.
still looking forward to the next one.
