Publisher's Summary

Vampires, ghosts and death itself - from the international bestselling author of The Atlas Six, Masters of Death by Olivie Blake is a spellbinding, page-turning and queer fantasy.

This book is about an estate agent. Only she’s a vampire, the house on sale is haunted, and its ghost was murdered.

When Viola Marek hires Fox D’Mora to deal with her ghost-infested mansion, she expects a competent medium. But unbeknownst to Viola, Fox is a fraud – despite being the godson of Death.

As the mystery unfolds, Viola and Fox are drawn into a quest that neither wants nor expects. They'll need the help of a demonic personal trainer, a sharp-voiced angel and a love-stricken reaper. And it transpires that the difference between a mysterious lost love and a dead body isn’t nearly as distinct as you’d hope.

Good read 👍

Narration was good, however it was cringe at times when the narrator elected to make their voice high for the female characters and that...was distasteful on occasion.

Besides that though, the story was fun, albeit a little (a lot) confusing.

- found family
- romance
- fantasy/ urban fantasy
- dark academia?
- light spice/ adult content but not explicit

please note: my reading and listening experience was somewhat negatively impacted by the fact that the ebook and the audiobook was not matching... I suspect I somehow got my hands on the indie ebook rather than the final published version as there were significant discrepancies between the audiobook and the ebook.

I intend to reread at some stage on paperback because there were a lot of quotable moments.

Utterly boring

The author has a tallent for the written language, but her story telling is aweful. i made it through the entire book which is a credit to my tollerance for boredom.

why did i continue on if i wasnt enjoying it? well i just had to see how terrible the ending could possibly be, and it didn't dissapointed...it was meaningless drival.

i know i shouldnt knock someones hardwork and art, but if i can just save one person from reading this book of neverending dialogue then ive done my civic duty.
