About this listen
Late 21st-century Earth is overcrowded, her natural resources dwindling rapidly. World governments and greedy mega corporations are forced to work together toward a solution.
A crew of ten humans are sent to Mars aboard Hyperion I to locate a suitable site and establish the first colony. After a months-long flight to the red planet, just as they are about to descend to the surface, problems arise. A careless accident kills a crew member, damages the ship, forcing the others to launch early. And that's just the beginning of their troubles.
On day one they learn that magic is real, and that the planet, in fact the entire galaxy, is governed by a complicated and merciless System. Their assimilation into the System makes them enemies of the paranoid powers that be on Earth, and they find themselves cut off. No communications with family, no resupply, they're on their own on a mostly dead world.
And nearly every form of life they do encounter is out to kill them.
Join Commander Fletcher and her crew as they struggle to survive a new world with new but familiar rules.

This is absolute garbage. The author clearly cashed in from the woke mob, pushing diversity forcefully. The action takes an eternity to kick in, and the character randomly chooses a class with an absurd rationale. The story falsely presents the Mars-bound crew as humanity's elite when, in reality, they're depicted as mentally underdeveloped 10-11-year-olds. One crew member manages to get killed due to sheer idiocy on the way to the planet.
This is Absolute dog shit novel, action does not start 2h into the "drama novel", at that time character apparently started picking any class they wanted "oh i wanna be an OP arcanist because i wanna shoot from the baaack im that kinda gaaall...."
It's one of those novels where author decides to have an explosive diarrhea of OP classes, stats & items, to make life easier for the woke MC.
Returning this title and informing the holy inquisition of the Hight treason by this heretical author.
After 2h in, basically no magical world, no LitRPG world. System seems to be op and boring and yes no items, loot etc... but srsly if you need 2h to get into the LITRPG novel author is just shit. his other books are decent, yet the narration is awfull and monotonous to the extreme.
