Publisher's Summary

Emma George seems destined to be the perpetual bridesmaid. Out of her five friends, she's the surviving single gal, and her one potential groom dumped her on her birthday a year ago. Now at the mercy of every do-gooder matchmaker, she's starting to think that love isn't ever going to find her. Alone at her best friend's wedding, she reaches a point where she will do just about anything to get some relief from those who think that the only way to happiness is through marriage.

Austin Maverick thought that he was finally going to get married to fulfill his grandmother's stipulation that he must be wed to inherit his grandfather's ranch. But when his romantic weekend in Las Vegas turned into a broken heart, he decided that love wasn't going to be a requirement for marriage anymore. Now a groomsman in his old friend's wedding, he reunites with Emma and concocts an idea. A fake marriage between the two of them would be beneficial for both.

After a quick wedding at the courthouse, they fly to Austin's Montana ranch. What starts out as a mutually advantageous trip turns into something more. Feelings emerge, and neither Emma nor Austin can figure out if the other one is genuine or just playing the part of a fake spouse. When Austin's grandmother arrives and starts poking holes in their lie, they must decide if what they feel is real or if it's all just an act.

Terrible narrator

I'm unsure if the story is good. I love a series especially when I can read the book and listen. It's initially set in New York City yet it's written as if they're in a small town. The narrator doesn't emote well, speaks in a flat town, and has a southern accent that doesn't fit the characters. I just couldn't keep listening. I'm disappointed because I was hoping this would be a new, interesting series. The premise was so promising.

temporary or forever

Emma and Austin start out in a fake marriage but sparks begin flying and emotions start emerging. They have both sworn off love but really want to find the "love of their lives". Such a sweet story and a clean romance but you can see and feel their attraction and them really falling for each other. Grandma is a hoot. Love this author's work.

Makes you wish for a cowboy of your own!

Austin and Emma agree to a fake marriage so his grandmother would sign over the deed to his family ranch. Falling in love was the last thing either of them expected. Faced with their emotions and heartache from the past, will they open themselves to the possibility of a future together? Well written and enjoyable to listen to, this is a wonderful fake marriage story. The characters are well developed and have great chemistry.

Love in the end...

This is a cute story of a mutual beneficial marriage that turned until a real relationship. I likes the characters but got tired of their internal dialogue taking about how unlovable they were.

Fake marriage become real?

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it when I read it and I most definitely enjoyed it when I listened to it again. Emma is a single lady that is feeling neglected and alone. Everyone reminds her of her relationship status. Austin is a young man that wants his ranch free and clear. The two get married and the fun begins. The chemistry between this couple is hot. I loved that they have to show off their love to those around them. That alone makes all their circumstances become too real. The narrator did a good job of keeping with the tone of the story. I recommend this book to those that enjoy marriages of convenience.

Good story, good narrator, but accent was wrong

Love the book. The author does a great job laying out a good clean romance with nice character development.

The narrator did a good job reading the book, with emphasis and voice changes that kept you interested. The one thing that was distracting was the narrator’s accent. She has a distinct southern accent. Emma is from New York and Austin is from Montana, but the narration makes one feel like they are from Texas or Alabama.

Aside from the accent flaw, this is a good piece.

Meyer makes sweet a sexy asset.

Unlucky in love, is the start of happily ever after for Emma and Austin. Meyer makes sweet a sexy asset. Marrying A Cowboy takes romance back to a simpler time with a complicated twist. Love doesn't always follow the rules. Emma and Austin are proof of that. Yet it's the last one to the finish line that appreciates it all the more.
