Publisher's Summary

From the USA Today best-selling series.

There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson...and yes, she is that Kathleen Tyson). One: She’s determined to make good decisions. Two: She must get married ASAP. And three: She knows how to knit.

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.

Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity - and heart - all in one piece.

Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent - or as trustworthy - as she thought?

Perfect ending to the series

I was worried that this book would wrap up the whole series in a half hearted attempt that so many books seem to do these days. I had nothing to fear. This book answers a lot of the series questions and doesn't rush through the ending at all! definately worth the read/listen.

Confusing Narration

I found the narration on this one confusing and eventually annoying. There was a female narrator and a male narrator but they took it in turns to each narrate both main characters (male and female). So both main characters had two different voices each (as well as the other characters). By the end I really felt the "f%!k" word was overused.

All the love for Dan!

The Audiobook for Marriage of Inconvenience is AMAZING!!!! The male narrator Stephen Dexter is F@&*ing awesome as Dan the Security Man. I was laughing constantly during his performance. SO GOOD. (for those that haven't read the ebook before listening to the audio - yes, there is a lot of swearing, Dan drops the F bombs all over the place - he is hilariously funny and I love his character)

I am a fan of Dan the security man

I’d just like to say that as an Australian, I appreciated Dan’s business trip & the small bits of Australian content that went along with it - even though the narrator did not say ‘Brisbane’ correctly. Also as an Australian I enjoyed all of the creative swearing that came from Dan. Reminds me of home. 😉

I really enjoyed this series. Mind you, I read the Winston Brothers series first before Knitting in the City and I loved that they crossed over.
I’ve become very attached to all the characters in this Penny Reid Universe and I’ve fallen in love with every single one of them. It’s safe to say that after now consuming 17 Penny Reid books back to back, that I am a BIG fan and is eagerly waiting for more.
Now, it’s time for me to go and download ‘Neanderthal Seeks Extra Yarns’ to get that bonus knitting content. 😉

Worth listening

You can’t tell a book by its cover stands true for this series. It ihas funny conversations, heart warming and wrenching portions, intelligent banter, and complex story lines without being too dramatic and no fillers where you are bored waiting for the good part to begin.. A surprise with the cartoony cover.

Dan is adorable

The stars of this narration for me were Dan and his narration by Stephen Dexter. though sometimes sounding a little over done on the accent, the charm of his character was really well delivered by narrator - I just wanted to keep listening to his quite adorable and frequently funny thought processes. his sweetness felt quite genuine as it wasn't syrupy or silly or unrealistic, just that of a good person really in love/lust and totally appreciative of the object of his affections, Kat. On the whole was actually a light-hearted romp, with some odd heavy parts about parents thrown in - extra details didn't seem necessary nor fit well with rest of story.
