Publisher's Summary

Francois Attadedji saw something in black women all over the world; in Africa, in Asia, in America, in Australia, in Europe, even in Antarctica that caught his attention. No matter where black women are on the planet, it is the same. So, he decided to do something with it, to write a book about it. He called this book: Many Reasons Why Black Women Don’t Wear Their Own Natural Nappy, Zippy, Curly, Kinky, Tiny, Short, Wavy Hairs.

He believes that it is possibly not what you think. Answers from black women themselves.

First, he wants to stretch out and make it clear that he is not against black women wearing different hair which is not their own, such as weaves, extension, braids, wigs. This book is born from his curiosity and ambition to know and discover those reasons.

Second, he has his own opinions about these reasons. He could have just written this book and told you what he believes these reasons are. Moreover, he could have put out there what his thoughts are. Whatever he believed and still believing those reasons are and write this book about them. But instead, he decided that it would be wiser and smarter not just to write about what his own points of view are on this topic. He said to himself, why not go and ask black women themselves? Why not go after the truth? Such truth can only be told and provided, he believed, by black women themselves, women who wear those wigs, extension, weaves, and braids or who just don’t like their own hair.

Finally, he decided to interview 100 black women in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States of America to find out the reasons why they don’t wear their own natural God-given hair.

Therefore, he got 100 answers from 100 different black women that he combined into 23 interviews in this book.
