Game on!

Ever since various world governments signed the World War III Armistice, the virtual world has become even more important than the real world.

Adam does not care for the virtual world. His only concern is curing his terminally ill lover, but with Aris on the verge of death, he is running out of time and hope.

When a woman called Fayte comes knocking on his door with a proposal, he is all too happy to accommodate her. She will cure Aris of her supposedly incurable disease with experimental technology that has never been tested. In exchange, Adam will enter the newest VRMMORPG, Age of Gods, to help Fayte win a bet against her father.

He enters the game, creates his character, and is ready to rock. But before he can even think of helping Fayte with her bet, he must first leave the Village of Beginnings by reaching level 10.

Can Adam prove his worth by being the first person to complete the dreaded tutorial stage?

Warning: This series is rated R18 for explicit content. It does not fade to black.

And with the voice acting talents and skills of Tess Irondale who makes the characters and world come alive with the narration...

Garbage

complete trash... it feels like some loser tried to over describe what it would be like to be a winner with girls fawning over him... what you end up with is a poor excuse for a self indulged white knight that makes bad decisions in a world where everyone but himself and a few others are complete idiots. the story is very boring and slow paced with pages upon pages of describing the unrealistic and awkward sexual tension or a full page on what someone had for breakfast or how they put on thier pants..... the book tries way to hard to be descriptive and edgy, it just comes off as a bad translation and lame, like a bad b sci-fi from the 70s
To top it all off the supposed record breaking game that everyone wants to play is terribad. if the game were to actually exist then no one would play it... it sounds like a really bad tabletop game from the 80s that no one has ever heard of. it's just lame and makes zero sense why anyone would ever log on..... tip for the author... if you are going to write about playing a video game then maybe you should try playing one, and then talk to people who are good at them to gain insight. if you want to write about relationships, maybe try actually talking to women? do some research please... the premise is the book is fine, but the scenarios and dialogue are so off base it's difficult for me to understand how someone could write it

Great listen

I'm normally not into game lit on tape but it was done so well in seemed quite natural. The multilayered story is well done and the characters are well rounded. Tesscagain does a great job in her narration.

Poor Game Design

Poor game design in a game lit story translates into poor world building. No amount of highly realistic feel will keep people invested. If the game is heavy on grind, combat is dull, 5 hours in and theres still no meta narrative for the game world makes for boring game to play and even more boring game to read about characters playing.

I loved Wiedergeburt. Cat girl doctor and A Most Unlikely Hero were good. Man Made God is boring.

A wonderful book and perfect performance.

First the book itself is incredibly fun and has so many hints to a deeper background that it makes you want to read more just to try and learn more of the great world the characters inhabit, both worlds I should say.

The characters are wonderful and Miss Irondale gets their mannerisms down so well that reading along made the laughter and accents of the speaking parts really stand out.

Miss Irondale really stood out reading this as it has a number of sections where stats are read out and each was done in a flowing and clear manner that must have been hard to get through, yet she does. I cannot recommend the book series and Miss Ted's Irondale enough. a fantastic buy.

Highly entertaining

Light Novel meets Gamelit/LitRPG. Works surprisingly well. Tess Irondale's performance is as excellent as expected, and worth listening to on that alone. I'm hoping for more of her performances for the later books. The story itself is light, even fun. Game mechanics are present consistently, and don't interfere with the flow of the story. Crunchy enough numbers-wise to count for LitRPG, but brutally simplified as well. It's very much light novel style: overwhelming power & skill on the main character's part. This should not be a surprise to anyone familiar with Brandon Varnell's work.
