A wonderful insight into the personal journey of a brand
An engaging and easy listen to the personal journey of Shea & Syd as they grew their brand. Invaluable & encouraging listening to anyone building a business as they share their journey with honesty & refreshing vulnerability.
Both useful from a business perspective for those hoping to be inspired by their path as a personal testimonial and lessons learnt, right through to just being a great story on the journey of a couple building their family while following their dream.
Both Syd & Shea make for clear & articulate listening & have a refreshing transparency about their journey. The mix of both voices & perspectives lends a welcome variety and keeps the story moving at an easy pace.

Very enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book and will play it back many times in the future I am predicting.

Just just an overnight success
As a fellow interior designer I love to hear the stories and the 10 years to become an “overnight success”
It is refreshing to hear the ups and downs, the highs and the lows and eventually living the dream that the studio has beacons to date.
As a husband and wife team they have lived and breathed the brand and created the design bison for the company and their lives.
It’s good to know that they have had horrid months, been maxed to their eyeballs and that they have overcome each and every challenge !
I am inspired by their vision and unlimited belief that they could create a company so large!
Well done, congratulations and all the beat for the next chapter!!

Inspiring and Refreshing
I enjoyed every word of this book. As someone who loves their design and the genius of their business I can now appreciate the hard work and tenacity that both put into building their brand. The open and honest journey shared by both Shae and Syd was refreshing and I loved how both candidly shared how the journey impacted them individually. Very inspiring.

Heartfelt & inspiring

Beautiful from beginning to end
This book was more than I expected! I’ve been a fan of the McGee team for a few years now and loved watching their Netflix series. It was a great insight into their portfolio of works and a sneak peek into their family life. BUT THE BOOK WAS PHENOMENAL. Going back in time with Syd and Shea to where it all began was a treasure. They didn’t hold back with the challenges they faced and it made me love them even more. Prepare to laugh, cry and learn from this inspirational duo. It’s a book you’ll read again and again, reflecting on their experiences from work project to home project 💛

Design of kindness
A refreshing and inspiring account of a family creating something beautiful with style, wit and kindness. I couldn't stop listening and find myself wanting to take the Mcgee family for coffee to talk design, family and business.

Inspiring
I absolutely loved this book. No it’s not about design but an awesome story about an awesome couple who have stuck it out through the good times and the bad. An inspiration in relationships and business. Well done guys!
