Here an unlikely friendship develops between the two young people who bond over their mutual love of heavy metal music and horror films. When Madeline is released from hospital care a tentative romance begins. Following an attempt on Jacob’s life by Madeline’s disapproving father, Jacob breaks the relationship off. Fifteen years later, unexpectedly, they meet again.
But the tides of fate that brought Jacob and Madeline together once more are made of much darker waters than either of them could have imagined, and now they are about to enter a second act even more harrowing than the first.
