Publisher's Summary

The best-selling self-published phenomenon addressing our urgent need for self-love in the world today. Now expanded with new listener-oriented lessons and a powerful and transformative personal story of the practice in action.

Kamal Ravikant knows misery well. In 2011, the company Kamal had spent the last 10 years of his life nurturing and growing suddenly and embarrassingly went under. He experienced a profound depression, the kind that made him physically ill and bedridden. The only source of light in this darkest moment was a meditation, a chant that came to him and provided the only source of comfort he could muster: I love myself.

Kamal began his transformational journey by repeating this over and over to himself. I love myself. I love myself. I love myself. Even when he didn’t believe it (especially when he didn’t believe it). This meditation grew in the form of a system of tools for keeping him positive, balanced and moving forward. Kamal’s spiritual healing changed his physical and emotional states, and his entire person shifted for the better.

Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It is the powerful story of Kamal’s radical self-growth journey and his specific practice for listeners. Dynamic, vulnerable and ultimately life-changing, this book holds a universal appeal for anyone who has ever struggled to get out of bed in the morning or smile through profound sadness.

Could have been written on one page

I had such mixed feelings and thoughts on this book. What started out as some sound advice ended up an overly long tale of his tragic love life that I didn't need to know. Kamal is earnest and I liked that. Better if he had taken the focus off himself a little bit and mixed in the stories of others and their success. Felt a bit like advice for teens and twenty somethings - perhaps a needed genre? Spoiler alert. 1. Repeat often I love myself. 2. Sit for 7 minutes and listen to music saying I love myself. 3.Look in the mirror and say I love myself - 'go all in you're worth it'. 4. Repeat. If you want to take this concept to a deeper and more mature level level I'd suggest Tara Brach or Susan Salsburg. My advice to Kamal is live life a bit longer, develop his practice and rewrite in thirty years. It could be great.

Kamal Ravikant: RUOK, I wanted to call Life Line.

Kamal, I am worried about you. You are not happy. You need to get out and read your own book.
You have a good message but you came across as co-dependant in your relationship experience and that would push anyone away.

I regret you recommended denigrating the other person to empower your self and that is wrong.
Don't do that. They are human and they need to grow as well. Empower the world and you will empower yourself.

RUOK is a web site and group that supports people in emotional need.

Maybe I am wrong. I normally do not leave reviews for books that I do not like or disagree with. Kamal you have something to offer, This book has something to offer but be joyous. I hope to see how you go.

Transforming, raw and deep truths

He is so honest. I love that. Loving yourself is no quick fix and I had to realise that in order to persist. Thank you Kamal this truly could be the light many have been seeking.

What a gift, to yourself.

For most of us, loving comes easy. We love our kids, our family, our pets, our friends, sport or jobs. What is incredibly difficult is to truly love ourselves.
There are a lot of ‘self help’ books available on this topic, but none has captured the true essence of this practice, the how and why, like this. The authenticity, vulnerability, rawness and truth far outweighs the practicality of the guide. Thank you for this gift, and thank you to those who steered me to find this book. Big ❤️

If this book is calling you, listen

The unconditional and deep love for the people I care about comes easily. Having that same love for myself seemed selfish in a way. I realise now that the more I love and respect myself, the grater the love for the people I care about gets. Profound.
