About this listen
Love is an art.
Sixteen-year-old Lynda Fan has the skills and the drive to get into the Rhode Island School of Design—but not the money. Her parents are too busy paying off her stepsister's violin lessons to help Lynda get into art school.
So when her rich and arrogant classmate, Angela Wu, offers to hire Lynda as a character designer for an otome game—a love story-based video game—she jumps at the opportunity.
Lynda isn’t exactly a romantic, but in pursuit of her dreams, she discovers things she never knew about herself while also finding love with every heart she draws.
Critic Reviews
"This has it all—a deeply complex coming of age story and a swoony romance!"—Jesse Q. Sutanto, bestselling author of Dial A for Aunties

The character were great for the bulk of the book but they did star grating on me by the end and were pretty annoying by the end with little growth happening. The FMC basically did 180 at the beginning of the climax of the story where she just acted like a total cow then acted like a petulant child when those around her held her accountable for her actions then she isolated herself because they must all be wrong and not her. Then she suddenly sees the error of her ways in 5 seconds and says sorry and all is well.
The Ace & Demi representation was good and it was great to see rep where they were both Ace and female and not that it was an otherwise straight-facing relationship which most ace or Demi rep can tend to be.
Overall, worth a read if you are looking for a sweet and lighthearted YA with no spice — so perfect for a teenager who wants a RomCom book to read that is age appropriate.
