About this listen
In my younger years, I played a lot of tennis. However, ten years ago, I stumbled upon a tennis court filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the rhythmic sound of paddles striking a perforated plastic ball. Little did I know that this moment would begin a life-changing journey in Pickleball, and I never looked back at playing tennis again.
As I stepped onto the court, I felt an instant connection to the sport, its community, and the joy it brought to players of all ages. In tennis, there's not as much laughter; it seems more serious and intense.
However, Pickleball is all about fun and laughter. The game points are short, and no one gets mad or upset. Plus, you don't have to run as much as you do in tennis.
Yes, Pickleball games can also become really competitive with players' skill sets and tournaments, just like tennis. Also, Pickleball is heading to the Olympics now. And why not? It's a great active sport for fun and enjoyment for all ages. I have said for years that if the Olympics can offer “Curling” they can surely offer Pickleball.
Pickleball is an easy setup on a regular tennis court. You mark off boundary lines with blue tape or chalk on a tennis court, bring in a portable net, and start playing the game using only half of the tennis court. You can find so many places to play. Many YMCAs and churches will play on their basketball courts by marking off the boundary lines and using portable nets. Pickleball became an integral part of my life. I found myself playing almost every day, sometimes even twice a day. The sport provides a fun and engaging way to stay active and in shape. It introduced me to a vibrant community of players who quickly became my second family. Through Pickleball, I discovered the power of a sport in uniting people and fostering friendships that transcend age, background, and skill level. This book is a testament to the incredible impact that Pickleball can have on one's life.
