A Love Means...

Eli Henninger is stretched a little thin. He teaches riding classes, conducts therapy sessions, takes care of his son, and helps manage the family farm. He's tired and overworked, especially because lately, no one else seems to do anything right. He and his partner, Geoff, haven't have time together in so long, he's beginning to forget what his longtime love feels like.

Geoff is just as busy with the farm, the business, and working through a complicated land purchase. He and Eli labor from sunup to sundown and then some. He knows taking care of their responsibilities is preventing them from taking care of each other, but he doesn't see anything he can do about it. To make matters worse, they're accused of behaving improperly toward some of the children in their riding programs.

Then Eli becomes ill and the investigators suspect foul play, forcing Geoff to reevaluate his priorities and hope fate will give them another chance.

Good but not great

I have to say that I like Andrew McFerrin's characterization of Geoff. He sounds more like what I expect him to. Eli's health scare was really weird. I'm not sure I totally understood the external source for his health issues. I see it as an important plot device regarding Tyrone, but beyond that it seems too weird/unbelievable.

Narrator is annoying

I’ve listened to the whole series to this point, and have enjoyed every one of them. The narrator reading the story did these long annoying and unnecessary pauses. The story was good, but I had a hard time listening to it. Glad this one wasn’t too long.

Getting Back to Love

These men have built a life for themselves. They have also built a farm as well that supports not only themselves but other people as well. But as so often happens in life both get so busy they loose sight of each other. But when there is a threat it helps both men see how much they mean to each other and work at getting back what is really important.

Bothered by narrator, didn't finish the book

I think perhaps I was used to Sean Crisden reading for this series. I was bothered by the narrator for some reason. I returned the book before finishing the first chapter so my rating of the story and overall are not necessarily accurate. I have others in my library that are narrated by the same person. I bought them all during the sale. I'm hoping I like the narrator if he is reading for a series I haven't listened to before. :(
