I loved the no nonsense way this was written and read. It gave some really great information about healthy relationships without sounding preachy or lovey-dovey like other relationship books can be. I personally can't stand romance books or preachy self-help books that just repeatedly say "stand up for yourself", "you deserve better", and "look for the obvious red flags" so this book was really refreshing. Would definitely listen to again.

This is more of a podcast than a book but the authors endearing style allows him to communicate with people with huge psychological issues and help them understand themselves. In this book the case history are uplifting starting from a level of awfulness / unbelievability and ending up in a place which each patient becomes human again. As a former family doctor these cases resonate with me, even though I am in a totally different environment. Few people talk openly about their inner anxieties and here you get insights into things that few experience in their lives. There are many well-known therapist of this type, usually females, but it is indeed good to hear a male who has the sort of empathy and honesty to be able to make headway in the lives of these individuals. He does give you a little hope about counselling and that it really can make a difference.

If you are fascinated by peoples problems this is for you.

I found pieces from every person that I could relate to in my own relationships. it really helped me identify things in myself I want to work on before I get into a new relationship. Basically, this book is the cheapest therapy session I've ever had.

I loved listening to this on my road trip.
