Publisher's Summary

Mindfulness matters! Especially to children.

We want our kids to be friendly to others, but have we ever talked to them about how to be friends to themselves? Self-acceptance, positive thinking and self-talk are so important to develop in childhood, but are we sure kids have all the tools to do it?

Listening with My Heart is a great tool for parents, teachers, and children themselves to go to their feelings and sensations to understand where they come from. It engages children in easy, kid-friendly mindfulness activities and helps them develop their capacity to be mindful, quiet, and self-regulate, and develop emotional resilience. It also enables kids to find the encouragement they need to navigate their daily environments.

Mindfulness is the most powerful thing that we can teach our children. What are you waiting for? Buy the audiobook now!

Great book! I think the world would be a better place if everyone took time to listen this book. Easy listen, seriously helps improve relationships- even if just one person listens it.

About regulating their emotions through mindfulnes

I absolutely love this book for teaching kids how to pay attention to their sensations and feelings and how those go together. There are little practices on just about each page so that kids can get into the experiential learning of this material.

It has good questions in case the adult doesn't

I'm a school psychologist and reading this with most of my kids. It is VERY long, so it's taking us 5-6 sessions to get through it. We're doing all of the interactive portions and then using the book as conversation starters.

Our three year old has been asking to read this book multiple times a day since we got it. We all love it! I like how it helps children develop emotional intelligence by describing the physical sensations we may feel in our bodies .

This is a great series with free reproducible.

A thoughtful story about learning how to forgive yourself for mistakes, and being a friend to yourself, as instructive for adults as it is for kids. Beautifully illustrated vignettes describe powerful emotional experiences in simple language that makes sense and sounds true for kids, without talking down to them. Highly recommended.

I really like the author audiobook.

I really like the author audiobook in general so it was no surprise that this is my favorite. It tackles a very sensitive issue in a most agreeable and gentle manner. We all want to be able to explain to our children those feelings that crop up, and the author manages to get this done in her audiobook, which children love.

I wish every child had this audiobook.

I love this audiobook! I am a therapist and this audiobook is a very helpful tool to engage kids in learning about body awareness. Giving them these tools help them feel confident listening to and voicing their needs. I wish every child had this audiobook. The downloadable resources tie it all together too.

This is a great starter audiobook.

This is a great starter audiobook to get your child talking about emotions and how they connect to your body and the sensations it has. It's also a great reminder for taking a breath when you are angry. The practice activities are helpful to keep kids interested and to help understand the concepts. My daughter has been doing "horse lips" since we listen to it.

This is a really good audiobook for my child.

This is a really good audiobook for my child to understand his body and his behaviors. However, some things are beyond his comprehension and I hope that as he grows and learns the audiobook will become more useful to him.

The author's audiobook is a delight!

The author's audiobook is a delight! I used it with my first and second graders as an extension of a Mindfulness lesson on Heartfulness. It offers the children a specific language to describe their feelings and kind and compassionate ways of relating to their own struggles. I have not listened to anything like it.
