Publisher's Summary

A prophecy foretold…the fate of thousands on the line....

With one major enemy town behind them, the GreenPiece clan marches onward to new conquests. Facing Oren and his monster army are the combined forces of the so-called "civilized races", intent on halting his invasion of their territory.

Reality blurs as Oren fights harder than ever to save the trapped players, his clan, and his family.

Life Reset: Conquest is book 5 of New Era Online, a LitRPG/GameLit best-selling series that combines settlement development, a monster protagonist, a deranged AI companion who’s obsessed with testicular quips, and a desire to explore what it means to be a human living inside a video game.

Shitty sound effects

Another audiobook series ruined by what ever incompetent boob that thinks that every action scene requires a 3 second stock audio clip on repeat. Just stop. maybe a little intro music to set the mood but just leave the story to the skill of the narrator. I will be returning this book even though I've listened to the rest of the series three times through.

Love it

Loved that it’s now shifting into the late game stage . Felt like the major city should have been captured in this book and the last book to be all about rhe AI wars . Can’t wait for the next and last book

Totally bingeable!

So many LITRPG books and series are crap but have 5 star ratings. Not this one. Great story line, the narrating is superb, totally believable portrayal of the characters. The production using several "actors" delivers multiple charactets easily seperated from other characters. There is a small amount of background sound affects and mood music which often can take from the production, not in this case, it adds to the ability of the story to grab you and draw you in. I would give in 10 out of 5???

The author is in love with his character.

All literature RPG does this. The author's bend the rules they set out in the worlds they build. Then they break them, and indulge in scoring items, experience and winning without losing anything.

Oren really had to fight, and was in danger in the first arc of the first three books. In this one, he is safe. It started with his old allies becoming enemies and he had a new set of more complex allies.

But after a few chapters, his old allies come back. It makes no sense, Oren is threatening their lives. But they have become TV watching imbeciles. The new characters just fade away. And there's lots of pointless sex scenes.

Nothing matters. This book is self gratification for the Author.

The Gam3 and the Land are two other series that have done this as well. This fledgling genre is rubbish, with every title behaving like season 8 of game of thrones. It really stands out when you go back to "normal" authors like Robin Hobb, Andy Weir and Stephen King.

Disappointing.

Give me more!!!

Wonderful storytelling. Really builds you up for the next installment. Narration was on point as always though I'm not really a fan of "Panda's" voice. It just feels a little over the top maybe?

Background sounds need balancing

The sound effects, while certainly adding something to the story, are occasionally far too loud. Almost half of the initial scorpion fights were close to unintelligible due to the ridiculously loud snapping and crackling sounds that were on a very short repeat loop at double the volume they should have been.

Ambience should be the goal not ear splitting sound.

over relying on past books.

Really... kill the leader and auto takeover a city...
Problems? Solve with force. Death? Barely an inconvenience.

This shames the name of conquest.

what's with all this prophecy bs 🙄 it really drags down the writing quality.

The whole turning into the chief thing has gotten old 😪 there has been no character progression in like 3 books. my score would have proberbly been lower if not for the past books.

Vick was more of a slave now than he has ever been as well. there is a serious feeling of lack of progression because I can see this book being copy pasted another 3 more times with the same sort of things happening.
