Riot Night changed my life. Coming back to Shadow Grove turned it on its head. I’ve been hunted, stabbed, stalked, tormented, and used. Hate fueled me, lies tore me apart, and in the end, everything I thought I knew turned out to be fake. Except...Riot Night also brought Archer, Kody, and Steele back into my life. No matter how much I’ve fought it, hated it, been lied to, or discovered the deceptions - I want them in my life.

What’s better than three monstrous hotties? How about four.... While helping the trio of sexy-as-sin monsters who followed me home, I lost my apartment, my sense of security, and more blood than was really healthy. Somehow my new lovers make me feel like I’ve gotten the better part of the bargain. Unfortunately, their newly-rescued boss isn’t so keen on humans. I get the feeling he’d rather rend me limb from limb than give me the time of day. Too bad for him my mortal skills are just too useful to toss aside.

It was an ordinary job. Another night, another asshole collector of the supernatural. I free some poor little beasties from their cages, pocket a few trinkets to pay my bills, and burn the place down on my way out. Just call me the Robin Hood of monster emancipation. I didn’t count on three manly monsters following me home like lost puppies. Stunningly hot lost puppies, but still. Now I’ve got a seductively cheeky incubus, a sweetly enthusiastic demon, and a grimly stoic angel camped out in my kitchen.

Death is only the beginning.
I have a lot to learn when I wake up in the afterlife. Never mind that my memories have been erased, but being assigned as a demon hunter, um...yeah, I don’t think so. Physical activity and I aren’t on speaking terms.
Making my supernatural headache worse is my infuriating trainer, Logan. Sparks fly between us immediately - the kind created by our swords and personalities as we clash in and out of the training center.
Just when I think my life - or rather, afterlife - is all punch, stab, rinse, and repeat, I find myself the wielder of the most powerful sword in existence. Sure, it might be cool to ash demons with a single swipe of my weapon, but now Satan is gunning for me.
Logan is the only one I can turn to for help. But the guy has secrets. So until I figure out what they are, I might just be on my own.
My name is Audrey Lyons, and my afterlife is shaping up to be a hot mess and a half.

fantasy meets spirituality
I just finished listening to the audiobooks for the Life After series. Such a wonderfully engaging story weaving together fantasy, faith, and love. Audrey is a captivating main character, and it is easy to fall in step with her journey. Each of the books adds layers and new dimensions to Audrey's time learning about herself, her spirituality, and her relationships with those around her. Honestly, I was not a big fan of the narrators using multiple character voices. When either narrator was speaking as a character of the opposite sex, I was immediately drawn out of the story. So much so, that I often had to pause the book, go back and listen to refocus on the words and try to ignore the voice. That feature was disappointing, as the story itself was highly engaging. I do wish I had just been reading the digital book, rather than the audio.

A beautiful 4,5 stars series
Voice: The female voice of the trilogy is a good fit for the story, easy to listen to and not confusing or anything since the different characters all have their own sort of voice. I love that she did the whole trilogy, well, the main three books that is. The male voice for the companion story took a while to get used to after listening to the female voice for the first two books. But it wasn’t bad and easy to follow after getting used to. Just the fact that he pronounced ‘ichor’ completely different was a bit of a let down but otherwise the deep voice suited Logan and the different voices for the other characters were a plus, even if it was very different from what you’ve been getting used to by the female voice. Huntress: 5 stars: I didn’t quite know what to make of this book. The blurb made Audrey out to be this girly girl, the whole “she’d rather discuss the color of her nails than break them on angelic weapons” was an exaggeration in my opinion. Sure, she’s not on board with being assigned the hunter job but more out of doubt than out of annoying “don’t wanna break my nails” type things. I do think that being so infuriated with het mentor Logan is what drives her to go trough the training. Not that she had any say in the matter but still, she’s more fierce than the blurb gave her credit. Naturally I did enjoy this book, the growth that Audrey makes is not too much or too little so very enjoyable and believable. Warfare: 5 stars: For me, this was the most epic one, since Audrey had to train a lot first, it wouldn’t make sense to let her deal with demons the entire first book. In this book there is more action. I have to say that this is one of the few books where I don’t find the “being clueless” factor annoying. It’s more a sort of a blunt “act first, think later” kind of thing than thinking through every detail that is given. Since I do think every detail through, it was a surprise for me just how clueless Audrey was at times and to my own surprise that just made me laugh! I think that’s because it fits her character so well, but that’s just a guess. This book had some hilarious parts that had me curling up in silence completely so as to not wake up anyone (it was night at the time). But they were hilarious. Logan: 5 stars: I found the companion story about Logan a great addition to the story. It was nice to get to know Logan a bit better and see how his ordeal made him in the Logan we know from the trilogy. Dominion: 4 stars: This book was good, although I’d rather seen the story evolve in another direction. Ultimately the story felt whole so I enjoyed it nontheless. It did resolve around faith and believing a bit more than the previous books so if it were to offend you by reading the (main) character needing to have faith, this might not be your book or series rather. With the faith and believing part, it feels like a warming story, even if you don’t believe the same things described in these books. And of course, the hunter-parts provide the action again like with the previous books.

less preaching. more demon slaying
I am 8 hours into 30+ hours . I like the premise of good vs evil, But I am trying to hold on long enough to get past the preaching. For me, it would be much better to allow the reader to know that God is there without extended preaching. extended preaching....that what church is for. ok finished. story was good but preaching was like touched by an angel on steroids...and I like touched by an angel but this was over the top

It's the whole "Holy Cheeseballs!" series!
I say that because my response to every book was a shout of incredulity. "Holy Cheeseballs!" These books are UNBELIEVABLY good. Probably my second favorite series after Narnia. When you're ranked right below Narnia in my opinion, that's a pretty big flipping deal. There's action, romance, drama, mystery, angels, demons, twists, and spiritual wisdom woven throughout. And the narration? AH- MAZE-ING! I listen to a LOT of audiobooks. I've seen narration poorly done and I've seen narration fantastically done and this one definitely falls into the latter category. Both narrators (one male, one female) are excellent at what they do and I'm half-tempted to look them up just to see what else they've done! What are you waiting for?! Quit reading my review and go listen to these brilliant books instead!

This series was an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed and cheered, then I'd cry, then get frustrated. I was all in with these characters. Lots of poignant moments. This book was different than I thought it was going to be,but so much better. Logan and Audrey have a love for the ages. I hate I can't leave a thorough review, but don't want to give anything away.

The After Life with Angels & Demons
This was a great series and the spirituality got stronger with each book. Audrey wakes up dead, in the afterlife, with no memories of her past life and is immediately assigned to hunt demons. She believes God’s made a huge mistake, but everyone keeps telling her that he never does. When an ancient weapon with unique powers chooses her to be its wielder, all eyes are on her, including Satan’s. She has a rough journey ahead of her, makes some amazing friends, and discovers her purpose in life. This series is filled with so many emotions, action, darkness, hope, and revelations that drew me in from the start. Adam and Vanessa did an amazing narration duet! Vanessa did the majority of the narration since the three main books are told in Audrey’s POV and I feel like she did a terrific job portray all of the emotions and being each character’s personality to life. I thought Adam was a perfect fit for Logan during the companion book told in Logan’s POV, but some of his female voices were a little hard to listen to. *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Missed the mark
I read and have enjoyed YA, the age of the heroine makes this almost NA and I've thoroughly enjoyed inspirational romances (those where the hero and heroine also become closer to god), I really enjoy paranormal. But I really didn't enjoy this. I found it predictable: from the first moment it was clear what Logan and Audrey were to one another; the author seems to have tried to go for an 'enemies to lovers' kind of feel but missed the mark. I enjoyed the relationship between Audrey and Ramona and was pleased to find that her relationship to Kaitlin didn't turn as antagonistic as it could have. The stakes didn't feel particularly high and when Ramona gives Audrey a talk about how kissing just isn't done because it's choosing your soul mate it made me really angry. I can appreciate Christian theology in a book - I've read it done fabulously - but pushing an ideology on the main character did not sit well with me at all. It made my inner feminist really, really angry. I found it very difficult to connect with and get swept away in the story - I'm not sure if it was due to the way it was written or the way it was performed, but huge chunks of it sounded like someone was reading out a list of things that happened in the book. I wanted to like it, but it's a DNF for me
