Publisher's Summary

The twisted and intriguing storytelling that you loved in Consequences and Infidelity continues with an all-new alpha anti-hero in the dark romance series Web of Sin, by New York Times best-selling author Aleatha Romig.

I am...

That’s no longer an easy statement.

Who am I?

Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement.

In 26 years I’ve lived three lives - been three different people.

Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae.

They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient.

Sparrow would then be a bird.

Birds eat spiders.

I prefer to consider myself a cat. It ups my chance of surviving the world I’m now living.

Maybe that’s only wishful thinking because according to Sterling, my number of lives is running out.

There are people who want to harm me, to learn the secrets they claim that I possess.

The only person to offer me protection is Sterling Sparrow.

Can I trust a man who willingly put me in the sight of danger?

What is real?

What are lies?

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Lies is book two of the Web of Sin trilogy.

Love

I love this series! The narrators are great and the story is fantastic. Ms. Romig’s ability to weave a great tale never lets me down. Now we wait for the next installment!

Love the book

Not so much the audio. The male narrator did a terrible female voice and the female narrator wasn’t much better. I think it would have been better in duet.

Lukewarm

I am SUCH an Aleatha fan but the slow moving predictable nature of this one is a disappointment. I’m hoping that volume 3 takes a great turn. I’m also completely thrown by the male narrator who’s voice doesn’t sound like a man of power by any means. Even worse is when he attempts to portray Kennedy’s voice. Very disturbing! This is so far a big miss for me.

I she cliffhangers so good

I love Aleatha's writing, the way she pulls me in to a story that could very well be plausible in 2018.

As always...

Well Aleatha, you've done it again. You've pulled my heart strings with all the twists and turns and then left it hanging. I love the characters but I do wish that their voices weren't speaking for the other characters. It would have been beautiful to have each voice speak for themselves even when being told by another character but nonetheless, the story is a web of intensity and I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Need new Narrators

Need new narrators. The girl sounds like all the other girls in the sparrow books. The guys voice does not match sparrows personification and he does a horrible girls voice.

the most pathetic female character!!

I enjoy this author and her romance ideas and the fact that the stories actually have a complex plot. but Jesus I've never read a more pathetic main character in my life. it's literally frustrating to listen to this book wanting to yell at this childish girl to grow a single backbone. which is disappointing because i really enjoy the rest of the story and characters.

Stupid heroine patronizing anti-hero

This is the second book in this series and I kept reading hoping it would get better. I now think it may be time to cut my losses. There is such an abundance of willful ignorance on the part of the heroine. She is portrayed as smart and successful yet seems to miss the most obvious of cues. I mean the hero flat out tells her that his dad was involved in the sex trade of children in the first book. However she still seems astonished when he mentions it again in this book. She never asks for more information about what her lover is into despite him clearly saying that it is dark and dirty. She never asks after her adopted mother despite claiming to be so worried and loving her so much. She just buries her head in the sand. Meanwhile he locks her in each night and regularly demeans and abuses her. I don’t get it at all. I enjoy dark romance as long as it isn’t stupid. The heroine can’t insist that she should be treated as an adult while at the same time behaving like a child. Give your readers the benefit of the doubt. Most of us are intelligent and have self respect.

Good Mix of Romance and Suspense

I really like Savannah Peachwood's voice. The second this audiobook started I was happy to be listening to her because I love the way she sounds. She is quite lovely to have in your ears. Sometimes I do feel like Alexander Cendese's voice is a little too deep and I have to slow down the audiobook to really hear everything he's saying clearly, but that could be a personal issue. Lies was a good continuation and I liked that it gives us a recap of what happened right at the end of the first book. Things are definitely interesting in this series and I like these characters a lot. Their relationship isn't perfect and there is some push and pull between them that I enjoyed. Its also great seeing little pieces of Araneae's past and what Sparrow knows. Definitely looking forward to the last book.

Interesting story

This was a suspenseful story. Just not enough romance for me. Male narrator needs to work on doing female voices. Love Savannah Peachwood. She is one of my favorites!

Gripping!

As the story continues in Lies (#2 in the Web Of Lies trilogy) Araneae finds out more secrets of her past. Sterling is as overbearing and controlling as ever as he tries to keep the feisty Araneae alive and safe from the present dangers. But she struggles to know who to trust in this gripping and exciting read. I can’t wait to find out how all ends! PS I loved the narrators!
