The twists were overdone. I skimmed through without missing the story. Disappointed by the ending.

A married school teacher who finds himself at the fore front of the olive enquirers onto the disappearance of the husband of his wife’s best friend.

A random moment, a blip in time, when Joe ‘s young son William sees his Mummy’s car in a busy London street, sets in motion a set of circumstances that has Joe’s life spiralling out of control when Ben , the husband of his wife friend goes missing, presumes dead, and as the day go by more, and more information begins to put Joe in the frame.

His life as the unassuming schoolteacher shattered, his marriage , strained and under a cloud, police hounding him.

Can he slowly put the piece together in time before the real perpetrator/s get away with a possible murder?

This book was a slow intense thriller, as Joe painstakingly stumble through leads and false clues .

Right up to the end he is still unaware just how much somebody else is pulling the strings.

And then….
We get the bomb shell ending!

( which I suspected. Then dismissed. but then turned out to be true 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I had NO idea as to the baddy.
It was intriguing and minute details that set the killers as the protagonist.
A brilliant story.
Highly recommend this book.

Starts off a bit slow then gets quite interesting but then the ending is so random and not suited to the book. I think the ending ruined the whole story

Ran out of steam.The denouement of this story didn't really make a lot of sense, I thought it was quite silly. It was almost like someone else wrote it without really having read the first 90% properly and it was all over very quickly, barely explained. I'll stick with the writer though, as his other books have been great......

The most irritating book I have ever listened too. The author makes this story just drag on and on without getting to the point. Im so frustrated with it I am calling it quits at Chapter 37. What a total waste of money this audio book was
