Publisher's Summary

Shortlisted for best audiobook in the Specsavers National Book Awards 2018.

I seen a kid killed.... He strangled it, up by the horse.

When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike's office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously mentally distressed and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story. But before Strike can question him further, Billy bolts from his office in a panic.

Trying to get to the bottom of Billy's story, Strike and Robin Ellacott - once his assistant, now a partner in the agency - set off on a twisting trail that leads them through the backstreets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament and to a beautiful but sinister manor house deep in the countryside.

And during this labyrinthine investigation, Strike's own life is far from straightforward: his newfound fame as a private eye means he can no longer operate behind the scenes as he once did. Plus, his relationship with his former assistant is more fraught than it ever has been - Robin is now invaluable to Strike in the business, but their personal relationship is much, much more tricky than that....

The most epic Robert Galbraith novel yet, Lethal White is the gripping next instalment in the ongoing story of Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott.

Stunning

Engrossing from the first minute and superbly narrated. The main characters human and vulnerable even if Robyn is developing feline properties - having now used 3 of her nine lives.

Another great read from Robert Galbraith!

I really enjoyed this latest CB Strike novel. The story doesn’t always play out as you would expect and left me checking online to see when the next instalment is due to be released. I’ll have to wait for the TV adaptation in the interim.

Political and family twister

This is the second book I’ve read of Galbraith’s and listening to it really brought it to life. Glenister’s reading, his mastery of diverse British accents and the craggy, weary voice of Strike are perfect for imagining the world of the upper classes who have murder and politics on their mind.

Do not listen if you are trying to go to sleep

Another top notch offering from our favorite nom de plume. Kept me guessing much longer than the 'ordinary' mystery novel, for sure. Lost 2 nights sleep because I could not "put it down"! A few extremely interesting and semi open ended red herrings that lead me to believe that this is not the last we will see of Cormoran Strike!

Nope, no spoilers from me. Grab it for yourself!

Oh, and the narrator is also top notch!

Unnesessary detail. Too complicated.

Far too complicated but just love her prose and original analogies, similes and metaphors. Sometimes I just stop in mid stride in wonder.

Love This Series

I've listened to the Strike series of books a couple of times now and I love them. Lethal White is excellent - the detail, the characters, the plot twists - fantastic. I particularly love Robert Glenister's narration. His character voices are wonderful and the tone, pace and emphasis perfect.

Edge of the seat brilliance

So well written and another cleverly constructed story. My favourite - but I think that applies to whichever Strike novel I’m reading!
