About this listen
I know what they see when they look at me. The charming, soft-spoken dragoness bred from the most powerful of royal bloodlines. A disguise stronger than any battle shield that allows me to keep all suitors at tail's length. A technique that's worked until him. Until Ragnar the Cunning, handsome barbarian warlord and warrior mage from the desolate Northlands. Unlike those who've come before him, he does not simply submit to my astounding charm and devastating smile. Instead, he dismisses me as vapid, useless, and, to my great annoyance, rather stupid!
Yet I'll allow no male to dismiss me. Soon he'll learn my worth, my many skills, and the strength of my will. For this one challenges me enough to make me want to ruthlessly taunt him, tease him, and, finally, when the trap is set, bring him to his knees.

Loved listening to this story but still found Kieta just too unlikeable, even with knowing what her true motives and responsibilities are.
But everything else that happens was brilliant.
BOOK REVIEW
Really hard to rate this as I still found Keita the least likeable of the Cadwaladr Clan and want to take off two stars for her but I cannot do that as the rest of the story is great.
She has never been that likeable in the previous books, self-centred, tantrum throwing and silly, with a very loose moral compass. Yes, it is all an act, except for the slut behaviour, that Keita revels in.
We did have hints of a different, more intelligent side to Keita, which finally come to light in this book. I applaud what she has done and the ending at Castle Moor was great but there is just something about her that rubs the wrong way.
Felt sorry for Ragnar having her as a mate, especially after her previous animosity and nasty physical attack.
But the biggest problem for me is the lack of connection and romance between these two, they eventually have sex, a lot, but even at the end they don’t feel loving or connected.
The story holds its own extremely well though, with the other characters doing their thing and the typical crazy anecdotes and carrying on that we are used to from this crazy group.
The additional carrying on between Izzy and Éibhear entertained.
Silly Éibhear, thinking he could control fate but has he pushed Izzy too much.
The build up for what is looming ahead was fantastic and the Kyvich Witches were something else.
Cannot wait to start the next book.
Read and reviewed previously but that review is missing.
I have read this series in various differing order over the years but I am actually reading them in chronological order this time around and loving it. The only thing is by reading them this way, is that it is sad that some of the relations from the earlier stories have now passed.
Still don't like Keita but!!
