Consistent excellence.
I have yet to find a book in this series that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Anspach & Cole are my new standard of science fiction and every time I see that one of their books is out on Audible, I'll actually pause what I'm listening to just to get the latest in Galaxy's Edge goodness.
Of course, then the waiting begins for the next book; thank goodness they put out books at more of a Sanderson pace than a Martin one.
I sincerely love this series. I've been spreading the word of Galaxy's Edge and the glorious dumpster fire that is this universe since shortly after l read the first book. My passion has not waned, but instead been justified by the authors' continued excellence.

Even RC Bray won’t get me to listen to another one of these.
It may seem ridiculous, and it certainly seems so to me now, but there were countless times throughout this absolutely useless book where I was momentarily angry over the never ending bloviating with almost no actual substance.
The authors go on and on and on and on with describing every thought, emotion, sight, sound, vibration and other things in a level of detail and redundancy that one would expect in a doctoral thesis, but with no actual story.
It bounces around from character to character, always describing every detail of the surroundings and the persons feelings towards those surroundings but never tell a story. I still have no clue what this book was about and who the heck cares about Billy Bang????!!!? It was like 2 hours of this completely disconnected back story of a completely disconnected character that literally has NOTHING to do with this book. Nothing! I’m sure it will tie into some obscure paragraph, in season 57, book 35, where they may even dare to have some substance with it, but in this book they wasted my time. Again. This is the third one in a row that has been utter nonsense and actually made me feel like I’ve been ripped off.
I swear, it’s like they’re trying to burn through their required word count on adjectives, and saying the same thing in four or five different ways, in four or five consecutive sentences, simply to describe a tree blowing in the wind, or the way somebody feels about said tree. It’s absolute nonsense. It’s like they’re both popping pills and getting into very deep conversations that seems earth shattering to them, and then they print it. Seriously, you’ve all been in a situation at some point in your lives where someone was high and trying to be philosophical and deep about a sunset or a beautiful landscape. Remember how hollow, phony, and useless that was? Well, this entire book is that guy. Two of them apparently.
Please don’t assume I’m exaggerating. If anything, I’m understating it.
Here’s my last little anecdote about this little gem.
Almost from the beginning, I was waiting for the story to actually begin. Like everything I was hearing was excellent character development and setting the stage and maybe some plot device is here and there, but absolutely no plot whatsoever. There’s about six different story arches they’re trying to pull of but they fail. Miserably. There’s no substance at all. But then suddenly I started getting into what I was hearing. Actual plot was unfolding. A STORY! And then 45 minutes later I hear the word “ Epilogue” i actually laughed out loud.
Never buying one of these books again, RC Bray or no. Sorry Mr. Bray, but even you can’t get me to patronize these guys again. They’ve done this too many times and I honestly believe they’re just pumping out the books for the money. There certainly isn’t anything in it for the reader/listener.

One of the best in the series
The mysteries surrounding Nilo and the connection between the savages and the House of Reason are somewhat unraveled.
What I liked most about this installment is that the authors are merging threads from the “Savage Wars” and from “Contracts and Terminations”. If you haven’t read/ listened to these books, you will still understand. If you have, it will be even better.
The thing I liked most about this book is that Garret, Death, and MakRaven had their time to shine. Only problem is that you know what happens to leejes that Bubbles choose as handlers (not sure who is handling who with this voodoo dog). Death really kicked ass in this installment and so did Garret, in his own way.
R.C. Bray was, of course, amazing. Nothing I can write that will do him justice.
I hope this has been helpful. I wish you as much enjoyment as I had from this book.
To Nick and Jason: Thank you!

Probably my favourite book in the series so far!
I really loved this book. The last book was dissapointing for me, but this one was everything I hoped for and more!
It made me fall in love with the series all over again. I just absolutely love all the characters and they all feel so strong in this one. It's so nice to finally see things moving along again in the main story. It really feels like it's coming together and building to something epic. I am absolutely hooked again.
Highly recommend reading the savage wars books and rechs bounty books before this as character appearances would mean a lot more.
I especially loved the cromethius chapters, which surprised me, since I found his savage wars book difficult to get through (though super interesting for background to the savages and totally worth it). I can't wait to hear more about him and where his story goes.
I'd love to beg the authors to do more of this! Fantastic work, very much appreciated, big thanks to them.
