Mentre vanno in vacanza, i Tantum vengono sorpresi da un temporale spaventoso. L'unico rifugio possibile è un castello dall'aria sinistra, sul cui cancello troneggia la carcassa di un gufo in decomposizione... per tenere alla larga i serpenti. Il castello è stato trasformato in agriturismo e con una certa inquietudine Oscar e Mariele Tantum, con i figli Paul e Brigitta, si sistemano per passare la notte.
