Publisher's Summary

Introducing Geralt the Witcher - revered and hated - who holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in the best-selling series that inspired the Witcher video games and a major Netflix show.

After walking through the portal in the Tower of Swallows while narrowly escaping death, Ciri finds herself in a completely different world...an Elven world. She is trapped with no way out. Time does not seem to exist and there are no obvious borders or portals to cross back into her home world.

But this is Ciri, the child of prophecy, and she will not be defeated. She knows she must escape to finally rejoin the Witcher, Geralt and his companions - and also to try to conquer her worst nightmare. Leo Bonhart, the man who chased, wounded and tortured Ciri, is still on her trail. And the world is still at war.

Two thumbs up

An excellent book. Dandelion's final scene in Toussaint is an extremely funny scene in narration.

Magnificent

I'm so glad that the Witcher books have been turned into audiobooks and shared on audible! Peter Kenny and his hundreds of distinct voices delivers a stellar performance. Incredible writing and storytelling. A superb end to the series.

Tantalising end to an amazing saga

This book was beautifully read and is able to transport you to another world.

There are only some slightly confusing segue moments. But easy to follow if you have listen to previous the Witcher books.

So so...

He may have lost it, not sure what had happened here. In the first part of this book the author goes I an indulgent trek into fluffy absurdism, totally confusing the main story with unnecessaryness. That said, the second half of the book reminds us why we all love this story and world.

Had to finish the series but became a drag

I found the story got a bit too into high fantasy and was also a bit hard to follow as an audio book. Jumped around all over the place and had very little action. A bit unsatisfied in the end but glad I listened all the same.

Great story

Im familiar with Sapkowski's Witcher since his first novels. I have read everything he wrote. I come form Poland where Witcher and Reynevan are well known. I wanted to listen the books in other language and I was surprised to find that there are English and German audiobooks.
overall score is 5, but the translation is not the best. on couple of occasions the translator failed to pick up the nuances in speech. however it had little or no consequence to the story.
classic fantasy, great read.

Last book... skip it.

Firat some nonsense with camelot that might as well be dinald duck for all i care. then some bs about some dreamer looking back in history. Then stockholmsyndrome probable kidnapping, rape, childnapping and overall crimes against everything that can be considered good. There is also adultery and deception and betrayal. Overall it's in poor taste and quite revolting.

The best series of books I ever enjoyed.

I never thought that theses books would touch me so deep. Everything made me wonder about the meaning of life, and how to live it in a better way.

Mixed opinions

So I finally finished the very large last book of the series!

I had to take 2 days to process the ending before writing my review.

I enjoyed the storyline up to the final battle with vilgefortz. I even enjoyed reading the side stories (even though I don’t know if the word “enjoyed” is the right word to use for the side story that took place in the war hospital on the battlefield- but it really made you feel like you were there and made you understand the horrible realities of war) although sometimes they could go on for a little longer then they needed too.

I just felt the ending was a little weak. Some things were just not wrapped up in a satisfactory way, perhaps because the world that the author created was too complicated and with too many characters and side plots to be wound up in a satisfactory way.

I have found myself comparing the way game of thrones tv season finished to the way this final book ended. In both cases we were not satisfied with the ending, however I don’t think anyone could suggest alternative because the world is too complicated.

Still definitely worth reading. Quite a challenge at times because of the book’s length but overall I did love the series overall. I’m glad I read them.

Amazing story beautifully narrated

This is a fitting ending to a fantastic saga! I was so pleased with the outcome of everybody’s individual story. The narration by Peter Kenny is quite possibly one of the best performances in any audio book I’ve ever listened too. Amazing!

It didn't need to be quite as long.

I really enjoyed the latter sections but the start was a long and mostly unnecessary slog.

Best book of the series

I am so greatly satisfied with the book. This book, in my humble opinion, is the best of the series. I felt like I lived through the moments with the characters, it captivated me to the very last moment. I am truly in love with the story. I do admit, however, that some of the stories felt unfinished and were not quite explained, but I think, it is meant to leave you wonder, and that is why it is so magical.

Good story and satisfying conclusion.

I like the narration and most male voices but sometimes I couldnt distinguish between the female voices and some of them didnt fit.
