Chi adduce motivi di salute e chi ne fa un tema di rispetto del pianeta o dei diritti altrui (degli indios dell'Amazzonia, degli animali infelici...). La tentazione della dieta unisce tutte le civiltà che hanno raggiunto un elevato benessere (invece nel Sud del mondo - chissà come mai - la pensano un po' diversamente). Ma la vera ragione per cui ci mettiamo a dieta è talmente semplice che nessuno ha il coraggio di dirla. Nessuno tranne noi.
