No ha sido así, sin embargo, y debemos contentarnos con las cuatro explicaciones tópicas: cansancio de nuestro espíritu creador, influencia de la dinastía borbónica y del extranjerismo que trae consigo, directrices de la Academia de San Fernando, creada a mediados de siglo, etc..
