La ginestra o Il fiore del deserto è la penultima lirica di Giacomo Leopardi, scritta nel 1836 a Torre del Greco presso Napoli nella villa Ferrigni e pubblicata postuma nell'edizione dei Canti nel 1845. Essa fa parte di quella che è stata definita dalla critica più recente la poetica anti-idillica dell'ultimo periodo leopardiano. Con questo canto, che è a parere della critica tra i più complessi dei canti leopardiani, il poeta vuole trasmettere un messaggio di solidarietà umana e, al di là del suo pessimismo, volgere lo sguardo verso l'avvenire.
