Yo tardé incontables eones en comprender cuál era mi destino. Aunque mi edad no es comparable a la de nadie, pues estuve en el inicio y estaré en el final, tendría que equipararme a un hombre adulto, quizás un anciano, cuando al fin entendí cuál era mi propósito.
No imagino qué habría sido de mí si alguien me hubiera revelado ese propósito cuando solo era un adolescente, uno que acababa de matar a sus hermanos. Enfrentarse a su destino era una prueba complicada en el caso de Mad, en especial porque era otra persona la que lo había decidido por él.
Asistí con mucho interés a la reacción de Mad cuando supo lo que Padre había planeado para él, y enseguida tuve claro que lo incluiría en estas crónicas.
