Harry is in a bad place: Rakel has left him, he's working cold cases and notorious murderer Svein Finne is back on the streets.

THE FIRST KILLER HARRY PUT BEHIND BARS IS OUT TO GET HIM.

Harry is responsible for the many years Finne spent in prison but now he's free and ready to pick up where he left off.

A MAN LIKE HARRY BETTER WATCH HIS BACK.

When Harry wakes up with blood on his hands, and no memory of what he did the night before, he knows everything is only going to get worse...

Critic Reviews

[Knife] may be Nesbo’s best storytelling yet. It’s not just clever; it’s diabolical, and let’s be glad it is, because the corkscrewing plot provides a measure of relief from the pain on view in this uncompromisingly intense and brilliant novel
Knife shows Nesbo back on form… This is a police procedural that breaks the bounds of the format with abandon… Nesbo manhandles the reader into contented…submission
Knife sees the return of Harry’s old nemesis Svein Finne… The plot never goes the way you think it will, as Nesbo delights in playing tricks on the reader
This is Scandi noir as dark as obsidian with an emotional wreck of a protagonist
You can imagine the worst (and you will probably be right), but the brilliant Jo Nesbo will surprise you anyway. Knife is the most unpredictable novel in the [Harry Hole] series
The sharp-as-a-knife Nesbo at his best. A first-class mix of thriller and murder mystery... Nesbo has done it again... Knife is a fantastic and exhilarating suspense novel
Skilfully plotted…Nesbo…uses the vast, cold landscapes of Norway to excellent effect in building dread
Nesbo indulges his unique, deliciously horrible vision of the world once again
The twists play out brilliantly [in Knife]; the translation by Neil Smith is flawless. This is the king of Norwegian crime on top form
Nesbo works his magic as this angsty thriller heads to its tense denouement. Fans of the Scandi crime sensation won’t be disappointed

Without doubt Jo Nesbo’s best Hole novel yet. Amazing story so interwoven and various acts happening simultaneously, can only be created by a genius. And of course, Sean Barrett brings Harry and a cast of hundreds alive once again. The Holy trinity: Nesbo, Hole and Barrett.

Jo Nesbo does it again

i enjoyed the narrator's voice. The story line was intriguing...couldn't beliece it was the end of Harry Hole and didn't pick his mate asvtge killer...

can't wait to find out tge roll of the dice!!!

I love the performance, Sean Barrett is easily listened to. He does not overly take on each character and speaks as you would read.

The case is more personal but less complicated compared to chasing serial killers like in others in the series. This is for the better as it is a cracking story.

Harry Hole is back!!

Not my favourite Hole novel, but it is well narated and well worth the read.

Harry Hole into all sorts of mischief again.

Nesbo’s cleverly layered plots. Smith’s beautiful (because nowhere does the language grate) translation and Barrett’s gritty narration. There’s nothing better for a Scandi Noir fan.

The mildest of criticisms: Nesbo does seem hell bent on systematically killing off all of Hole’s friends, lovers and colleagues. He does a good job of introducing and developing new characters to replace them. But after the first five or six books one can’t help but ask of each new persona “how long is s/he going to last’?

Classic Nesbo/Hole
