Publisher's Summary

What could be worse that getting stuck in a virtual world?

Instead of enjoying the game, I found myself trapped inside my character's dead body. Now the only way I can save myself is by procuring the Scroll of Rebirth. The problem is my chances of getting it are slim. I'm an undead: an outlaw with no friends, only fickle allies and plenty of enemies. Who are only waiting for their chance to strike.

My undead hangman character has to tread a razor's edge, with only the support of his fellow players preventing his imminent plunge into the abyss. But are they who they claim they are? In a game, there's nothing easier than assuming another person's identity.

A litrpg with substance

Unlike most generic lit-rpg this series has a deep and entertaining plot. The mc experiences and has to actually work through challenges and the character interaction is realistic and multidimensional. The reasons for the litrpg aspect of the story are plausible and make the whole story come together in a way that other stories fail to capture. My only complaint is that occasionally a line will be read in a way that doesn't match the descriptor that comes after it, it keeps the characters closer to how the narrator has brought them to life which is nice but it kind of throws me off when it happens.

great story, annoying narrator

the book is great and the narrator does do a great job but it's clear he doesn't know anything about games with how he pronounces words in the book. it breaks the immersion when he pronounces things so horribly. otherwise everything's amazing

Love this series.

OMG! More please! I have bypassed this series for a long time. Now that I’ve started it, I can’t stop. This is really entertaining and interesting. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

why must I-5 book series be left at 2

the problem with this one is that according to Ramon from the lit RPG podcast this is only a two book series at this time hopefully that changes and this becomes a five or six book series it's good but it needs another narrator this just wasn't something suited for him and it took away from story you can also tell that the translation was a little rougher than usual and given that the two translators are superb at what they do this disappointed me can't wait for the next one to come out because I believe that this can be a better series Once the author commits to how many books he wants to do so he can flush everything out better than he was able to do in these two books

Kitten.

Stop!
Just. Stop. Kitten, Kitten Kitten. It is too much. I have had enough. Kitten is likely a pet name in Russian that sounds at least slightly bearable. But in english, with this terrible voice actor that can't change it up, I feel physically nauseous from listening to it. It was bad in the first book but it just gets worse.

The story is decent and I wish it was originally in english and had a better translator. I can't listen to any more. I got about just about an hour in before I hit the pause button nearly flinging my phone across the room.

If you can find the russian version and speak russian, this might be good. But I highly recommend you don't get this book unless you are mentally prepared and extremely tolerable.
