Publisher's Summary

Peter Foster is a career conman who charmed his way into the lives of the rich and famous around the world. Justin Armsden is the reporter who’s been on his tail for 25 years.

In King Of Sting, the two play cat and mouse as Armsden retraces Foster’s merciless series of stings, from Australia’s glittery Gold Coast to London, Fiji and beyond. Armsden reveals how Foster swindled more than $100 million from hopeful victims while earning the trust of Muhammad Ali, British first lady Cherie Blair, and singer-songwriter Samantha Fox.

With secretly recorded conversations and a private investigator on side, King of Sting exposes the enormous power Foster has built for himself, and his many unbelievable escapes from the law.

Now, as Foster hatches his latest scam under a new alias, Armsden hopes to catch the fraudster in the act for the final time.

Fascinating, easily digestible warning for all

Well documented and substantiated. Appreciation and congratulations to those who've been tenacious in their attempts to bring some justice.

For the reader/listener it could be difficult to believe Foster's motivations and intentions. But if you understand a bit re anti-social personalities, (narcissist, sociopath, psychopath etc), it's easier to accept there's people out there doing this all the time.

It's estimated these anti-socials make up 2% of the population. So we're all likely to come across them. This is probably a 'there for the grace of god' story for most of us...but definitely a warning for all.

not innocent

the author demonstrates how damaging this man is, a con man who says I haven't hurt anyone, but he has and continues to do so. I recommend this book for many reasons but an important one is..it makes you aware of what to look out for. keep up the great work justin you're helping us all

Riveting, original and well researched

Loved this podcast, from the title through to each section that documents Foster’s never ending scams in Australia and overseas throughout the years. Lovable rogue, absolutely not. Highly intelligent, absolutely. The art of the sell, psychological manipulation and perseverance, it’s all here. The strong family ties, Gold Coast background and love of the flash have a mafioso quality to them. One has to wonder what he would have achieved on the straight and narrow.

pretty good for a quick listen

This guy should be in Jail along with every con man around. The law really needs to change to get these people behind bars permanently.

Excessively loud "background" music

An interesting enough story, told in a back & forth manner, but spoiled by over the top and unnecessary background music.
There has been a lot of effort put into the production and it is clear how extensive the research was.
The main narrator/journalist has a pleasant delivery and brings considerable emotional depth, as a result of his personal history with the events portrayed.
It's not a bad series by any means, but given the distraction of the music, I'm glad it was free.

Gripping

Really enjoyed this true life white collar crime story and the endeavours of those trying to stop him. My only complaint is that you’re not told if he finally pays back the millions he stole.
