Publisher's Summary

She's his opposite in every way...and the greatest temptation he's ever known.

Reserved, controlled, and proper to a fault, Kai Young has neither the time nor inclination for chaos - and Isabella, with her purple hair and inappropriate jokes, is chaos personified.

With a crucial CEO vote looming and a media empire at stake, the billionaire heir can't afford the distraction she brings.

Isabella is everything he shouldn't want, but with every look and every touch, he's tempted to break all his rules...and claim her as his own.

Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesn't like or a man she couldn't charm...except for Kai Young.

It shouldn't matter. He's not her type - the man translates classics into Latin for fun, and his membership at the exclusive club where she bartends means he's strictly off limits.

But she can't deny that, beneath his cool exterior, is a man who could make her melt with just a touch.

No matter how hard they try, they can't resist giving into their forbidden desires.

Even if it costs them everything.

Meh

The male narrator spoiled this story for me, the accent was so contrived and fake.

The narrators voice

Bad choice of narration. Couldn’t finish it which is a first for the author. Would have returned it if I could

Disappointing

Characters aren’t as exciting as previous couples in the first book of this series and the twisted series. Narrators excessively pompous voices. Struggling to keep listening, a little cringe.

Please bring back Jacob Morgan 🥵

This is a strong 3 TBH. I loved all of Ana Huangs Twisted series and King of Wrath ... swoon but this was flat. I was not enthralled with the story at all. I just was not engaged with Kai and the male narrator.

Ehh

It definitely wasn’t like the others. Little boring. Wasn’t as full on as the other books. Had to struggle through it

Pass on the accent

Personally this was my favorite Ana Huang story but the British accent on the male lead was difficult to endure at times. It kinda made it changed the mood/meaning because of it.

Ending was good

I am enjoying this series more than the first. I struggled to relate to the main FMC and the spice wasn’t as good as book 1. Enjoyed the twists and the ending was super cute.

Can’t stand the male narration

Terrible accent for the make narration. Kind of put me off listening but I stuck through it.

The male narrator really ruined it, I’m afraid 😩

Fortunately I’d read the reviews so only started this audiobook when I had a physical copy too because I just couldn’t get past the male narration. His accent really made Kai unlikable and irritating, which is not how I read him while physically reading the book. It was as though he’d been given the brief of ‘snobby brit’ and just read his lines, not giving Kai with any warmth or even any character development as he falls for Isabella… so I ended up physically reading at least all of Kai’s chapters from halfway through (and most of Isabella’s too). I really liked Kai’s voice in ‘King of Wrath’ so it’s a shame they didn’t use the same narrator. I did like Isabella’s narration though. Glad I read the reviews first! Stick to the physical book for this one as there’s no chemistry in the audiobook

Didn’t make it past chapter 4 as male narrator was so bad

I was looking forward to this as I enjoyed the first book in the series and those two narrators were great. Unfortunately it’s like they ordered the male narrator for this one from Wish. His English accent is so terrible that I couldn’t stand anymore after chapter 4. They should’ve just hired the same narrator from the first book to do this one as his accent when reading Kai’s part was perfect. Or, hear me out…perhaps splurge a little and hire a real English male to do the job?! Doubt I’ll move on to book 3 now as this one turned me off so much.
