Publisher's Summary

It had seemed so simple. Get in, get the information, get out. But now they were getting inside her mind and she didn’t know how to stop them...

When Detective Kim Stone is called to the home of Samantha Brown, she finds the young woman lying in bed with her throat cut and a knife in her hand. With no sign of forced entry or struggle, Kim rules her death a tragic suicide.

But a visit to Samantha’s parents rings alarm bells for Kim - there’s something they’re not telling her. And, when she spots a clue in a photograph, Kim realizes she’s made a huge mistake. Samantha didn’t take her own life, she was murdered.

Then a young man’s body is found in a local lake with his throat cut and Kim makes a link between the victim and Samantha. They both spent time at Unity Farm, a retreat for people seeking an alternative way of life.

Beneath the retreat’s cozy façade, Kim and her team uncover a sinister community preying on the emotionally vulnerable.

Sending one of her own undercover into Unity Farm is high risk but it’s Kim’s only hope if she is to catch a killer - someone Kim is convinced the victims knew and trusted.

With Bryant distracted by the emergence of a harrowing case close to his heart, and an undercover officer in way over her head, Kim’s neck is on the line like never before. Can she protect those closest to her before another life is taken?

An unbelievably gripping crime thriller from best seller Angela Marsons that will have you hooked on the Detective Kim Stone series.

Another good read/listen

Another great book from Angela Marsons - When l used to read her books l couldn't turn the page fast enough and now that l listen to them, l cant listen long enough - you just want more. Good story good pace (as always). Nice tone, nice flow. This one touches on cults ... updates the reader on how they work now these days compared to the traditional types of the 80's. I have wondered about the authors source of knowledge as she often goes deeper than just a good google dive. I wonder if she taps on the shoulders of Police, Priests , Politicians, Psychiatrist and Psychologist’s - who knows, but nicely informative.

Another Detective Kim Stone winner!

KILLING MIND is Book 12 in the Detective Kim Stone series by British author Angela Marsons. This one is about a cult that lures in young people who are dissatisfied with their lives. Jan Cramer's narration is excellent.

Well Done!

I have often left feedback about Marsons’ Kim Stone series. Kim Stone is absolutely one of my favorite detectives and the combination of Marsons’ dialogue and Jan Cramer’s reading of it, is consistently a delight! What made this novel all the more compelling for me was the application of constructive feedback I’ve left in the past. While it is possible this feedback was never read and the author made the choice herself, I was glad to not have to hear the killer’s point of view periodically throughout the book. In the past these vignettes have been read in an over-the-top manner that was distracting from Marsons’ pitch perfect writing. Whether it was due to my feedback or not, this novel struck the perfect balance! This particular mystery was cleverly outlined and executed. I’m not going to give away any spoilers. I’ll just say this is definitely one of Marsons’ most intriguing Stone novels to date. Well done!

Another 5 Star Book by Angela Marsons

Killing Mind was absolutely amazing as all of Angela Marson's books are! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I had no idea who the perpetrator was until she was ready to tell us!!!! Jan Cramer's narration was great as well. She is the perfect Kim!!!

Like visiting friends

Can't wait to each new book. Listening to it is like visiting old friends. Kim Stone is such a dedicated and headstrong character and the rest of the department always complements her style. The story is engaging and the intriguing and as alway narration adds to the book. Can't wait for the next one. Being part of the story is like being a part of dysfunctional, yet loving family who always has your back.

Marsons books

I've read every one of her books and NEVER been disappointed! I would suggest starting with DCI Kim Stone books to go towards her earlier books so you know who is who.

Kim Moves Forward

Kim Stone finally moves into detecting and solving crimes unrelated to her painful past. While the plot still centers on family dysfunction on the extreme, this episode brings other members of the team into focus, as they all face their own and their families histories...and futures.

Wonderful series!

I love this series of books by Angela Marsons. The storylines are interesting, as well as her small cast of characters. The narrator is the same throughout and she is perfect!

Plot problem made this a waste of time

The story depends on an utterly unbelievable plot point: That during a murder investigation, an inexperienced constable would be placed undercover without any kind of training. Much of the tension requires the reader/listener to believe this.

Disappointing

I loved all the Kim Stone books but the narrator ruined this one for me. Never imagined Kim as a posh middle aged schoolteacher type until now.

Gripping, couldn't stop listening.

I had always suspected that in my teenage years I had been part of a cult. Wow after listening to this I definitely was. The research was amazing to the point some details we're very uncomfortable to hear as it brought back such strong memories. Amazing story as ever. it must be time for Stone to have her own TV show.
