Publisher's Summary

A thrilling prequel story to the best-selling, award-winning A Good Girl's Guide to Murder!

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is the winner of the British Book Awards' Children's Book of the Year 2020 and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2020.

Pippa Fitz-Amobi is not in the mood for her friend’s murder mystery party. Especially one that involves 1920s fancy dress and pretending that their town, Little Kilton, is an island called Joy. But when the game begins, Pip finds herself drawn into the make-believe world of intrigue, deception and murder.

But as Pip plays detective, teasing out the identity of the killer clue by clue, the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn’t the only case on her mind....

Find out where it all began for Pip in this prequel to the best-selling A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood.

"Nail-biting, taut and pacy. Jackson [is] a homegrown thriller writer to watch...." (Guardian)

Enjoyable as a prequel to a great series

Although it’s essentially not about anything bit a retell of a murder mystery party it’s a great intro to a group of characters I knew from reading the 3 main books in the series & weirdly kept me listening.

Pretty meh

Didn’t add anything to the story. The readers already knew pip was a genius. Hardly included the original Andie bell plot line, and doesn’t tell us why she thinks sal sighn was innocent

A really nice start to the series

This was just a really nice way to start the series, I listened to killjoy after I finished the other 3 and it was a really nice way for me to say goodbye to these characters
