Johannes Kepler war ein deutscher Astronom und Theologe. Im Jahr 1630 reist Kepler nach Regensburg, wo er nach ein paar Monaten im Alter von 58 Jahren verstarb. Von dieser Reise wird in dieser Erzählung berichtet.
Utta Keppler (1905-2004) wurde als Tochter eines Pfarrers in Stuttgart geboren und wuchs dort auf. Sie besuchte die Stuttgarter Kunstakademie bis sie die Meisterreife erreichte. 1929 heiratete sie und hat vier Söhne. Sie arbeitete frei bei Zeitungen und Zeitschriften und schrieb mehrere biographische Romane, meist über weibliche historische Persönlichkeiten, für welche sie ein intensives Quellenstudium betrieb.
