While the investigations go on in Dallas and Baton Rouge after the disappearance of a senator's daughter, FBI agents CJ Johnston and Paige Riley are assigned to the sleepy backwoods of East Texas for a dead-end assignment to infiltrate an all-girls school.
Random disappearances dating back 50 years and more raise red flags that point to the tiny, isolated community of Hoganville. But CJ and Paige fear there will be little distraction from the memories of the one-night stand they shared six months ago.
Nevertheless, they integrate themselves into the lives of the teachers and staff, but soon the odd behavior of the townspeople has them convinced something sinister lurks there. Something, perhaps, that even the residents of Hoganville don't know about.

Can I have 10 more like this?
Fantastic from start to finish! Wish I could delete it from my brain so I could listen to it for the first time again! I love the speed the romance developed at it wasn’t dragged out but wasn’t rushed either. Definitely recommend this one. And Abby Craden like normal did a stellar job!

Gerri hill never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times you read or re-read her masterpieces they always delight and allow you the chance to escape and embrace some more than others.
CJ & Paige are no expectations, well narrated which always makes it even more amazing the expressiveness is wonderful, Abby brings these stories to life.

A fantastic suspense thriller

Unexpected
Really enjoyed this adventure, it certainly took an unexpected turn but it was full of suspense and yet still a great romantic tale with some humour to boot !

Engaging story
I was riveted to this tale. Extraordinary narrator with differing accents for each of the characters that were not confused with each other.

Loved it and loved the characters
Abby Craven another great performance. Love the story love the characters love the suspense love the kind of mystery cult kind of thing love the spice between the two main characters. Looking forward to the second volume can’t wait.

Easy listen
CJ is decidedly creepy. However, the story kept me intrigued. Paige is an interesting and attractive character. CJ though, comes across as predatory and too damaged for Paige

Pretty good
The chop and changing between the romance and the murder mystery was a little jarring at times. Overall, an okay read. The ending left me wanting a bit more.

Want to be scared?
This book will scare the pants off you. It needs reading in several sessions. Two female FBI agents are sent undercover to a girl’s reform school in the backwoods of Texas. There’s been girls disappearing over many years near a small town called Hoganville. Amongst the creepy atmosphere the women fall in love. But what is really lurking in the caves and not everyone will get out of there alive. Gerri Hill weaves a complex and compelling thriller that keeps you on edge all the way through. Abby Craden narrates this so well, the chills fall down your back whilst listening.
